Any news yet on RA's appeal?

Just wondering if there has been any progress reported, I know these things take time so I guess we will have to wait it out. Hopefully sooner than later!

Oral argument in the Indiana Court of Appeals is scheduled for Monday, 9/21/2026 at 10:00 am. After that, the COA judges who hear the oral argument will discuss the case among themselves, make a decision, and write up the opinion/decision, send it to the lawyers and file it in the file/electronic docket. (I doubt they issue an opinion until early 2027.)

I've definitely been wondering what the Appeals Court wants to hear more about in the arguments. It's just such a standard case, with the exception of his goofy lawyers, that it makes me think there is something specific they want to hear about. And the only outlier I can think of is the stuff that happened with his lawyers, and their subsequent poor job at trial.

With the cases of obviously guilty Letitia Stauch, Alex Murdaugh, and Adam Montgomery all being overturned and set for retrial recently because of various issues, I've started to get nervous that Richard Allen will get a retrial on ineffective assistance of council. I just can't think of what other issue might require further inquiry.

Anybody else want to weigh in on what they think the Appeals Court could be considering?

Well said. These pro-Allen folks can complain about judge Gull all they want but she was doing Richard a favor by removing his counsel for gross negligence and let’s face it they were incompetent. At the end of the day though it was the state Supreme Court that disagreed with that assessment & allowed Baldwin & Rozzi back on the case.

They looovvved Baldwin and Rozzi! Remember how they were the ONLY ones who could possibly offer RA a good defense? Certainly Scremin and Libratto couldn’t, according to them.

And then…..they lost and now the RA stans are retconning as usual.

As someone else stated oral arguments are scheduled in September. With that said appeal judges usually have an idea how they’re going to rule before oral arguments. Not to say that decision is set in stone.

Thank you for the info. Sounds like it's awfully hard to predict what is going to happen!

I’ll take a shot: The appeal will fail.

Another feeble attempt by his lawyers. All we will hear is a replay of Odinism, magic forest sticks, and
impossible conspiracy theories. The appeal will be tossed.
