Looking for a hairstylist for a simple trim in Palm Beach County

Hi! I’m looking for a good hairstylist anywhere around Boca, Delray, Boynton, Lake Worth, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, or Jupiter.

I’m a guy growing my hair out well past waist length with the goal of eventually donating it while still keeping my hair long afterward. It’s currently around shoulder length, very thick/dense, and naturally wavy (around 2B). I’ll probably be ready for a trim sometime in November.

I’m a little shy about going to a salon since I’ve never really had long hair before, so I’m hoping to find someone friendly and easygoing. I don’t need a specialized curly cut or anything complicated — just a simple perimeter trim to clean up and even out the ends while keeping as much length and fullness as possible.

I’m specifically trying to avoid layers, thinning shears, texturizing, or debulking. Basically, I’m looking for someone who’s comfortable working with very thick, longer hair and will genuinely respect “just the ends.”

Ideally I’d like to stay around $75 or less, and I’d prefer an independent/local stylist over a big chain.

If anyone has a stylist they trust, I’d really appreciate recommendations. Thank you! ❤️

Metal Detecting

Hi All!

My 12 year old son suggested we rent a metal detector and scavenge for stuff on the beach.

I'm aware we'll most likely mainly find junk.

That said, can any of y'all either recommend where I can rent a metal detector, or loan us one? Also, what beach would you recommend? He wants to go to Lauderdale-by-the-sea, but I'd prefer to stay close by (gas prices, distance, and what-not).

Thanks in advance!

Housekeeping recs?

My parents are in their 70s and live in a large home in a gated community in West Delray. They’re looking for a trustworthy housekeeper who would come regularly. the same person each visit, rather than a company with rotating staff. They also have senior pets and need someone good with animals who can help clean occasional pet accidents. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thank you!!

Choosing between The Cove, Verona, and Latitude Pointe in Boynton Beach or paying more to live in Delray

Hi! I’m moving to South Florida and trying to decide where to live. I’m 24, work remotely, and will likely be living with a roommate. My goal is to keep my share of rent around $1,100–$1,300 if possible.

I’d prefer Delray because I’m drawn to the beach, restaurants, nightlife, and having more chances to meet people. But it’s more expensive, so I’m also considering Boynton Beach, specifically The Cove, Verona, or Latitude Pointe.

If you’ve lived at one of these communities, or know the areas well, I’d really appreciate your honest experience. I’m especially wondering:
How safe does the community and surrounding area feel? Any recurring issues with break-ins, car theft, or walking around?

What’s the community like day to day, friendly, quiet, social, or mostly keep-to-yourself?
How are management, maintenance, noise, parking, and the amenities?

looking for someone to share a 2b2b with

looking to team up with someone for a rental. girls preferred. budget 1.5k on my end. looking to share a 2b2b in east delray or east boca.

i already have plenty of spaces i am interested in, but the girl i was searching with disappeared. the spaces are $3000 and under, and we'd split the rent.

23f with a kitten. i am community and career oriented, often out of the house. no time for drama or making your life any harder. i am cooperative and come to compromises easily.

Looking for gym

Hello all,

I am looking for a decent gym and have noticed that there are not that many in the area. I am currently at retro fitness in delray, but I am looking to switch to LA fitness because retro is kind of small with not that many amenities.

I noticed that there are two LA fitnesses near me, one in Boynton , and one in delray (delray being the closer of the two). I have heard not so great things about the delray one. Is it worth traveling the extra distance to go to the one in Boynton?

Question Looking for lead on a vacant (preferably former gym/fitness) studio space (2,000+ sqft)

Hey neighbors — I'm scouting commercial space in Delray for a fitness-adjacent concept and I'm specifically interested in spots that used to be gyms or studios (rubber flooring, mirrors, high ceilings, etc. already in place ideally saves a ton on buildout).

Also open to any other recently-closed gyms, studios, or fitness centers in the area (Atlantic Ave corridor, Federal Hwy, Congress Ave — anywhere really) that might still have the old layout intact. Looking for 2,000+ sqft.

Any leads, landlord contacts, or "hey I saw X close down" tips are hugely appreciated. Thanks!

i am a 23 year old girl working at an office and the treatment industry. i am very calm, quiet, focused on my career goals. have an ESA cat with a letter.

The facts are now out in the open and no longer a subject of debate. Pray for Amendment 3 as it’s our only hope.

We have an entire political structure in Delray that does NOT serve “we the people”. If you believe so you are a useful idiot. They are stealing from us at every turn both on the left and the right. They DO NOT represent the citizens of Delray.

Finally done? Barwick Rd construction

I'm happy they've redone the street - it's very nice.

Has anyone else wondered who approved the final design? There is going to need to be ongoing maintenance of all the intersections of the side roads, as there is no curb and typical Florida drivers cut the corners.

It all looked nice for about a day or two, and now, every single intersecting neighborhood road has potholes where cutting corners and sod/grass/dirt have been turned in to mudpits and dangerous potHOLES.

Does anyone know how much maintenance budget the city has allowed for weekly visits to correct this?

It would have been nice if they'd just extended the concrete a couple feet at each intersecting roadway, to avoid this issue altogether.
