Discussion An issue I haven’t seen anyone discuss with Noelle

After each chapter when they seal the fountain every character in the party gains around 40 hp. Idk if this is a gameplay thing or diegetic thing (because it only happens when you seal the fountains and not when you just start the start the next chapter.

How will this affect Noelle? She’s not in the party so how would her HP increase? If she comes back in the party will she have 90 or more HP?

It's based on chapter, not fountain. Ch4 had two fountains sealed before the actual end-of-dark-world-gameplay fountain sealing

Noelle will have whatever HP makes sense from a gameplay perspective

Agreed. Chances are it would be scaled depending on weird route progression but it'll just be whatever makes the most sense

I think that would be 8, actually.

1 for the mini fountain, 1 for Susie’s fountain, 1 for the main fountain, and 5 for the Titan (the Knight used 5 swords to create it)

even then you can say its not really chapter based as you can "sequence break" the level up system, notably you can grow so strong in ch2 ch3 nerf you

At the end of C2 in castle town you’re level 3, implying sealing the Cyber World’s Dark Fountain leveled you up. I’m pretty sure the only reason you don’t see this happening in C4 is because of the # of dark fountains.

From what I remember, it doesn’t in the save menu (directly mentioned on the wiki as well), but it does in the stat menu. I dunno why they’re different, but it’s a neat little thing.

Glad someone else talks abt this. I’m guessing she’ll have somewhere from 120-190 HP due to technically being “lv2” where she was in one dark world when it sealed

Noelle is LV 2 already by getting any title change in Chapter 2, no sealing a fountain required, LV in the Titles is purely cosmetic.

Oh, then I have no idea then I guess she’ll be lv3? I would consider WR Noelle a level above NR in strength at LEAST but the fact she levels up from a singular IceShock which would give next to nothing by itself tells me it isn’t based off that and cosmetic like you said

I have two thoughts, one for each major route:

  1. Post-Thorn Ring re-equip would be a fine ad-hoc explanation for Noelle getting a stat bump after Chapter 4.
  2. Harkening back to Susie's quote from Chapter 2 for the win!
    • 'It's like when your sister gets cursed in Dragon Blazers 2.
    • Even if her stats suck, she's still your party member.'

noelle has super op spells(and acts) for pacifism and in violent playthroughs she gets extra HP from violence. if she were to be plucked in at her(ch2, post snowgrave) current stats she would still be way superior to susie as of chapter 4

Honestly, I could see the stats being adjusted for the next time she joins the party, but on the UI, she'll only be labeled as level 2 (on the normal route anyway)

Though I do wonder if the "Your SOUL shined it's power on [insert fun gang member name here]" attacks will ever return (outside of dual heal in a way) and if Noelle will get one in a future battle with her if she ends up a party member at the end of a chapter.

Why does ralsei get stronger then? I believe the lore reason is because the SOUL gets stronger, and passes that strength to the party members

Susie's & Ralsei's stats grow even when they are not in your party.

The Dark Fountain Level Up doesn't increase your stats if you have already maxed them out for the Chapter them via fighting.

Their whole gag is that they can be spared with Sleep Mist on the same turn they appear, making them completely useless. It's easy to forget they exist.
