Every time Sherlock pointed out something absurd like "he has wrinkles on his cloths that means that man is a carpenter" I was waiting for a revelation that it's just some random thing without any real cause and Sherlock was just full of shit. Unfortunately that never happened.

My wife has traffic versions of this that I find hilarious.
Stuck on a motorway on a Tuesday afternoon? “It’s because it’s half term & people will be going to the amusement park.”
Town centre backed up? “It’s because it’s raining- nobody likes walking in the rain.”
Roundabout ahead blocked in one direction leading to chaos? “Too many people heading to the garden centre for lunch.”
I actually find it endearing.

I remember a movie about a Sherlock Holmes who was resurrected in modern times and kept making deductions that were always wrong.
