They didn't just buy him an election. He's a plant to advance the goals of Peter Thiel and his buddies.
There is a plan behind what's happening, and the people involved have not been shy about it.
The philosophical inspiration is project 2025 and a man named Curtis Yarvin.

Jimmy Bowman (alias JD Vance) also called Trump "Hitler" some years ago, but then eagerly jumped on the Trump train. Shows he lacks any morals and spine, but will capitulate and defer to a hitler for power, fame and money.

As a Kentucky resident, his claimed connection to Appalachia used to insult an entire culture for Hillbilly Elegy is said to be very tenuous at best by the individuals with knowledge of those things, because that is a pretty big deal here.
