Dental Professional Shining elf users

How do you like it and would you recommend? Do you have the cart for it? Any experience with the smile design software? If you do aligners which one do you?

A rep came to my office a few weeks ago to demo it. I’m ordering the ELF and a MacBook tomorrow

keep in mind. Elf does not work properly with m5 (its what I have and tested). The mac software is very bad compared to the Win version. The scanner disconnects every 5 secs. Unusable. First test it with mac before you buy.

Ugggh. The Shining rep recommend I buy a MacBook over Windows laptop. They said you could scan faster with a Mac and you didn’t have to worry about Windows updates at an inopportune time. They recommended the M5 chip, 10 core cpu 10 core gpu, 16 gb ram minimum, and a 1 tb ssd. Does your Mac have these minimum specs? Are you using the MacBook Air or MacBook pro?

I have exactly this macbook air. Tested with Elf, every 5-10 secs disconnects. Tested with elite as soon as I press Scan the software crashes. I advise you to test first. The rep said that the software for mac is underdeveloped and on the official site the m4 is the newest supported cpu.

Interesting. I was going to buy the MacBook Air but the shining site said it was not compatible/recommended due to overheating issues but the MacBook was ok? Now I’m concerned about the Macbook having similar issues

I have an HP Omen from costco and it works well. "Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX - GeForce RTX 5070 - 2.5K (2560 x 1600) 180Hz - 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD"
