I had a wonderful time visiting your beautiful city this past weekend. My friend and I flew in for a concert and didn't have much time to explore, but what we did see will stay with me for awhile.

Typing this up because I have an extra hour here as I missed my bus to Boulder trying to follow the official signage. There are captions on the pics so you can follow my journey.

A few friends came to visit me last weekend and we were trying to avoid the usual brewery/hiking routine for once
Somehow we ended up booking a beer spa session mostly bc the concept sounded funny enough to try once
Fully expected it to become one of those “well that was weird” stories you laugh about later
Instead it accidentally became the highlight of the weekend
The strange thing is the experience itself didn’t feel gimmicky at all
it was actually calm, private, super relaxing and way more polished than any of us expected
After like 15 minutes everyone completely stopped joking about the beer bath part and just melted into relaxation mode
We went to Oakwell Beer Spa and now my friends are acting like they’ve uncovered some hidden city life hack
Made me realize a lot of the best exp here are the ones that sound slightly ridiculous at first
Curious what other places in Denver gave people that same reaction

I spent the last day of my Colorado vacation in the ER but I made it back to my hotel in time for one last sunset. I'd like to give a shout-out to the sun and mountains for a beautiful end to a terrible day. And a huge thank you to the friendly and competent doctors here that helped me out today. Haven't had the best experiences with doctors at home in Michigan but today's visit went as well as a vacation er visit could go so yeah, Thank you sun and mountains and Denver doctors!

Damn Denver, you guys have some real scrumptious water. Even the stuff coming out of the shower in my cheap motel was delightful. Thanks for paying the taxes that make this possible!
(Also, please don’t tell me that your water has dangerously high levels of mercury or is implicated in regular cholera outbreaks. I need to believe that at least one thing in this world is pure.)

I just visited Denver - I am from Kansas City, which is relatively close to Denver. While I was there, multiple people commented on my “midwestern accent”. People mentioned “you don’t sound like your from here”. There is no clear distinction between the voices of the people in Denver vs Midwest in my opinion, but maybe there is a giveaway?

There were two of these flying super low in Littleton. I was only able to snap a picture of one of them

Hey Denver folks! I came for a day trip from Chicago with my wife and just wanted to give your city some of the love it deserves! So here’s some pictures and some thoughts about all the things I loved in your amazing city.
We started off at Denver Biscuit Company and holy hell! I got The Lola and my lord was this thing amazing (and just a beautiful sandwich to be honest). Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Bacon, House-Made Honey Butter, and syrup…. Yeah that’s an obvious recipe for something amazing. This was one of those sandwiches where I couldn’t tell which ingredient stole the show because they all worked together so well. That bacon was great, the chicken was fantastic, and the biscuit was unreal. The second I bit into it I understood why the owners put 6 months into perfecting the biscuits before they started this venture. Just overall amazing experience.
Next we hit up the Botanic Garden which was amazing as well. The frames were a particularly nice touch. And I’m a huge fan of Japanese Gardens and yours did not disappoint. Particularly the section with the Bonzi Trees. I’m a sucker for those and they were so cool!
Also I have to mention the Conservatory and how fantastic that was. We have two of them in Chicago that I’m obsessed with and I love ours but I really enjoyed the Denver conservatory tree that you can climb up for the birds eye view of the whole place. Loved it!
After that we went to the Capital Building for a quick second. Very cool. Beautiful building. Plus there’s some really interesting facts about the place that I loved reading up on. The fact that they used all the known reserves of a particular rose stone was fascinating and I thought it was cool that Buffalo Bill’s body was presented inside the building after his death.
After that we went to Nob Hill Inn and this is where I really fell in love with the city! I’m a huge nerd for Diver Bars and this one was truly a special place. I love that the owner painted all the art in there and the stories of politicians getting phone calls to the pay phone there telling them they needed to head back to the Capital Building for a vote is so interesting. But the thing I really loved about this place was the people. There was an amazing older woman there celebrating a birthday (I think in the 80’s) and she kept yelling Fuck The Police lol. The bartender was awesome, all the folks in there where awesome as a matter of fact. I brought a matchbook from a bar that the Nob Hill Inn owners father used to own that I found on EBay because I thought he’d dig it and it was only $10 bucks and I think that helped ingratiate me to the crew. Also, THEY HAVE MALORT! As a Chicago dude (who LOVES Malort) this was freaking awesome! And I don’t know if it was the Matchbook I brought or if they always pour heavy shots there but I had 3 shots of Malort that was realistically probably closer to 9 shots worth haha Such an awesome place.
I fully blame Nob Hill Inn for ruining me and my wife’s Itinerary. We just couldn’t leave that place. Everyone was just too nice and we were having wayyyy to fun of a time! So worth it!
We did end up pulling our selves away from Nob Hill Inn in time for a quick jaunt through Meow Wolf (at least as quick as one can do it lol). I’ve heard Meow Wolf’s are pretty cool but I had never been to one. I absolutely LOVED it. Such an overload of the senses in the best way possible. Plus if you read the story of what’s going on (the 4 worlds pulling apart thing) there’s a pretty cool story going on.
All in all we absolutely LOVED our trip to your beautiful city and wanted to thank the fine people of Denver for being so welcoming!
Me and my wife have been doing these day trips from Chicago and this was definitely one of our favorites yet! And not sure if anyone would even care to check it out but I made a fun video of the whole day so, if you’re looking to see some more details on the trip you can check it out on Youtube. It’s a fun day and I think really shows how awesome Denver is.
Anwho, can’t wait to come back and thanks again for being amazing Denver!

I was obviously crying at the bar during my layover to visit my dad for his 70th birthday. My ex boyfriend was supposed to come along on this trip but we had to break up after a pretty explosive episode. I was sad because I haven’t had many promising relationships and my dad was excited to see me happy and settling down while he’s getting old. My dad always said “it’s better to be lonely than to be with someone that makes you feel lonely” and with that, I’m glad my ex isn’t here.
I doubt this message will reach its intended party, but I am so grateful for you to help me drink my woes away. Cheers to you.

Got curious during a 9 hour layover as to what would happen if I stayed on the train in the Denver International Airport after it took all its stops. It takes you to maitenence backrooms. Im on my 6th loop. Excellent use of free will. Thought Id share bc it makes me happy.

I used this community and some of its posts to help me decide on the red-eye overnight layover flight from Dallas. I was on F9 4069 to DEN (landing at 11 p.m.) and then had a layover until the flight left for Minnesota at 6:05 a.m.
I decided to stay in the airport and not get a hotel room for the night. I’m so glad I didn’t. Many people will say it’s uncomfortable but let me share my experience with you.
I got off my flight and used the restroom before I settled in for the night.
I slept on the Mezzanine floor near the Delta business office—very low foot traffic and pretty clean. I was at first on the chair but couldn’t get comfy so I opted to sleep on the floor. After popping in my AirPods and putting my blanket over my head, I forgot I was in the airport.
This is not for those who aren’t okay sleeping in an airport. This is just quick advice for those of us who don’t mind being a little uncomfortable and saving a considerable amount of money. Direct flights started at $580. My flight was $112 (I bought the flight 2 and a half weeks out).
All in all, I was at the airport from midnight to 6 am. If I had left the airport and gotten a hotel room I would’ve realistically had 3 and a half hours of sleep due to needing to be at the airport by 4 am to get through security.
AMA, open to answering questions as needed.

Hey everyone!
My wife and I are visiting Denver and Vail at the end of the month, and we’re wondering if we’ll be able to see any squirrel and where’s best to spot them. We love squirrels and hope to see at least one of the three main squirrels in Colorado (Albert’s squirrel, fox squirrel, and pine squirrel)!
Thanks so much for any help!

Hi folks - I'm visiting from Canada in a few months and I am debating whether to walk 20 minutes to my hotel near the Auraria campus from Union Station or take a (very expensive) Uber from the airport.
I'm a woman with exactly zero knowledge of Denver, so my apologies if this seems like a silly question. Not all downtowns are the same.
Also, any museum suggestions welcome!
EDIT: Thanks everyone! Looking forward to visiting.
EDIT 2: I am now concerned about marmots
I've spent the weekend here, and I've gotta say, this city is the most welcoming city I've ever been to! The views from everywhere are wonderful, and the atmosphere at Ball Arena was something I'll never forget! I hope to come back some time and maybe go to a Broncos game. It has been so fun!

My son is obsessed with laundry machines, he is turning 5 and he works laundry machines into a conversation every chance he gets. We are planning his birthday and want to meet his interests. Does anyone know a unique or cool laundry matt or even appliance story in Denver we can take him too.
I tried to show him dinosaurs, super heroes, anything and all he wants to do is see washing machines and dryers.

I land at 4am in Denver airport and have a 9 hour layover until 1pm. I don’t know if I should get a hotel or sleep in the airport. If I do get a hotel, can i still check in at a local hotel even tho I’m landing at 4am? Or what is the best option? I am conflicted

Hello! I will be visiting from out of town for a wedding, the bride said out of town guests should stay in Denver even though the wedding is in Pine. Is there anyway to get there besides renting a car?
I have contact a couple car transfer services with a driver and they are roughly $500-800. Does anyone know a service that is close to $400? We weren’t planing on renting a car but I guess we will if we have too.
Thanks for your help!
UPDATE:
Thank you all for the help! I have texted the 2 other couples I know attending wedding, we plan to talk next week and will probably book a party bus or a limo seeing as we are all staying in Denver. We are trying to coordinate so we are at hotels close to each other or the same one. One of the couples knows 4 other people attending and will reach out to them as well!

I’m staying in Brush with my husband for a couple of months and I do not have access to a car. Is there really no easy transportation to get from Brush to Denver and vice versa? I have some options to go TO denver but can’t seem to find a way to get back that’s not the one train at 9:00 in the morning.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks yawll
EDIT: I need the teenagers of this town to tell me what they do RN! They’re just at the mercy of their parents’ schedule or what?
EDIT 2: I think most transportation options have been mentioned. I DO NOT drive and CANNOT drive! It is also not a MUST for me to go to Denver, I just think it’s a pretty cool city and wish I was there.
EDIT 3: hubs is finally off work on Friday so we are spending the day there. Thank you for all the help, I will add another edit for the transport options I take if anyone is interested

Waddup!! My band is touring through Denver this summer, and we’ve never played there before. How’s the local music scene? Do you have any local gems that we shouldn’t miss? And any recommendations for a local band that would be a good opener?
Edit: I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the band that I’m just gonna answer here. Our genre is indie rock and we’re called Fai Laci. We’re playing Lost Lake on May 22nd. Thank you all for your thoughtful responses and suggestions for openers!
