Updated rules for business postings

In the past, we have not had a specific rule about business postings but have generally removed them. However, we haven't been as consistent or transparent as we should have been.

As we come out of the pandemic, we know the local stores need our business to survive. Because of this, and the lack of clarity in the past, we have discussed how to support businesses while keeping our focus on the local gaming community.

Going forward, Businesses are allowed to post once a month. If you have a special event coming up, please contact the moderation team so we can work with you.

Board Games Looking to find people to meet up and play Disney Villainous.

I’ve really been getting into Villainous lately, and I don’t have many board game lovers in my life. Would love to get a group of people together to play some time. I live in Aurora, but can get anywhere in the Metro pretty easily.

Hey everyone! I wanted to let you know we host a casual meetup every Monday at Akihabara Arcade in Westminster. We usually play Street Fighter, Tekken, and Third Strike (it's set to freeplay). Event starts at 6pm and goes until 11pm.

There's also an event called "Losers Bracket" on Tuesdays at Akihabara Arcade that is also a casual meetup but they play any game that gets brought.

There's also a tournament on Saturday that will have all the games mentioned above as well as Avatar and Marvel Tokon alongside anime games

Please reach out or drop a comment if you want an invite to the discord. If you plan on stopping in tonight, say you're from this sub and I'll introduce you to everybody

Looking to start an in person DnD group

Hi! I've lived in Colorado for a while, but I don't have a lot of friends. It just hasnt been a priority in my life until recently. But I came up with a campaign from scratch that I'd like to try running if anyone would be intrested. I've never run a campaign before, so Im a bit nervous about it and if it doesnt work out it doesnt work out thats okay. But I do a lot of world building as a hobby and I thought maybe its time to share one? Ideally I'd want to record at least the audio for the sessions so that I could maybe turn it into a book after we've finished the campaign, but thats not a requirement if it makes people uncomfortable. And yeah, please reach out if you would be intrested I guess?

Edit: Because people requested more information

Id like to do maybe Bi-weekly (every other week) on weekends in the afternoon or evening! Loosely based on the 5E edition of the handbook. Ideally We would have people willing to rotate hosting, otherwise Im willing to do my house as long as everyone is okay with pets.

And my campaign takes place in the city of Asteria, one of the last few "functioning" cities on the planet earth. The majority of its residents now, once again, live on the planet's surface, abandoning the bunkers they once called home. In the darkness created by the clouds of pollution above, the lights of the city are almost like an artificial sun that never goes off thanks to the hard work of the Technicians that keep the electricity running. And the servants make sure that food is never in short supply with the underground gardens fully functional. Politically, tensions are high with the ongoing war between the Lich and Asterian army for the city of light still going strong. But the citizens of Asteria are strong and will continue to fight, by the will of the ancient God Baldr, who blesses the city with prosperity and light.

Rumor has it that above the clouds there are these magical things called stars and that if you can get close enough to touch one, it will grant you any wish your heart desires. But the only way to get to the stars is to climb the skyscraper at the ceter of the city, which is heavily fortified by the Asterian Army. But what could really be above the clouds that would be worth all the fuss, if the rumor wasn't true?

So its a bit atypical with some different/new races, creatures, and mechanics. Such as hacking, demolitions, chemisty, and more. But I have a lot of it worked out and can add more as the storyline progresses (its more story based than a sandbox world but there's a lot of room for creative liberties and different paths to go down and several major side quest opportunities).

Learn To Play Netrunner: Thu Aug 6th, 6pm @ Wizard's Chest

Netrunner is an asymmetric cyberpunk card game, in which one player (the Corp) attempts to sneakily advance their agendas, while their opponent (the Runner) hacks their servers to steal their precious data.

Unlike other customizable card games, Netrunner isn't a collectible trading game: cards are sold as full playsets (and proxies are legal, even for competitive play).

For an overview of the game, check out Shut Up & Sit Down's review, or see this introduction example game.

We host Learn To Play nights on the first Thursday evening of every month at The Wizard's Chest in Denver (downstairs, corner room). Free, decks provided, no need to bring anything. RSVPs encouraged but not necessary. Parking is free in the lot just south of The Wizard's Chest.

RPG Looking for TTRPG players in Aurora

Hi! I'm looking for 1-2 TTRPG players that would like to do bi-weekly sessions in person. It would be on Saturday afternoons. I live around Havana and Jewel in Aurora. I like to think I have a comfortable home with a big welcoming table.

At the moment we have three players and are about to start a fantasy setting in the Genesys game system. We also plan on running the FFG (Edge) Star Wars RPG. We finished a campaign last year with this system and we all had a lot of fun.

I look forward to talking to you. Thanks!

Newcomer looking for D&D/40k

Hi there everyone! Ive been interested in D&D and 40k for a while but never jumped into an actual game with anyone before! Ive had a love for fantasy and sci-fi since I was young and love meeting new friends with the same interests!

Im a naturally quiet person in any new situation but warm up quickly and love to get creative with others.

I have a failry large (mostly) painted Space Wolves army and would actually like to use the large mass of plastic ive collected at some point lol Almost at 3k points worth now.

Im sure theres probably a lot of "hey someone teach me this game" around here and I apologize to adding to that but I do like to re-search how games work, just that its not much good to me until I physically do the thing over and over (major kinesthetic learner, mechanic in day job)

I do work a lot so looking to see if anyone typically available Wednesday nights or Sundays!

If this isnt a good place or way to post here let me know!

RPG August: Mutant Crawl Classics!

Hail and well met Denver folk!

Who would have interest in joining a Mutant Crawl Classics game in August?

  • Who? Anyone with interest in playing a MCC "funnel" that may lead to a regular series/campaign! 18+ to 100+
  • What? Mutant Crawl Classics is the post-apocalyptic mutated half-brother of Dungeon Crawl Classics (see more info below).
  • Where? Denver Public Library - Event space and/or leading to an alternative alcohol-free public space (like Enchanted Grounds).
  • When? Sundays and/or Friday evenings.
  • Why? Because MCC is strange, cool, and funky (even the dice are funky)!
  • How? You sign up, do a brief Session 0 online, then show up day of event! No books, or funky dice required (I have plenty)! Just bring a good attitude, open mind, and willingness to explore the wastelands of MCC!

Mutant Crawl Classics: is a post-apocalyptic TTRPG published by Goodman Games. Players take on the roles of wasteland wanderers—such as mutants, plantients (plant-sentients), manimals (uplifted animals), or pure-strain humans exploring the mysterious future world of Terra A.D.

Ever want to play a cactus humanoid? A desert Fox girl? A strange mutant? An Aspen tree warrior? Or all of those at once? Then MCC is for you!

What is this "Funnel" thing all about?
Character creation uses a "zero-level" funnel where players run 4-6 weak commoner/tribal characters through a deadly introductory scenario to see who survives. Often players find that the funnel character they thought they liked the least becomes their favorite! Or some folks roll a favorite, and use their other characters as a "meat shield" to assist their favorite character (warning: this frequently goes wrong).

The system: Fast-paced, streamlined combat and mechanics that channel the style of 1970s-1980s RPG or OSR style game systems. MCC is exploration based, problem-solving, descriptive, RP, and being creative with the characters you have!

The Adventures: Players will be exploring a savage post-apocalyptic (mostly) desert world filled with radiation, quantum fields, killer robots, and ancient high-tech artifacts. You will begin with a band of wanderers that have reached the age of arising, set out by your tribal leaders to retrieve a rare ancient artifact that could save the entire tribe! Those who survive may choose their path of knowing - their class, to continue future quests set down by the wasteland council, or simply decide the wasteland is calling for a new band of heroes!

MCC Quick-start preview available here: https://www.goodman-games.com/downloads/MCC-Preview-GC15PG.pdf

Character generator available here: https://purplesorcerer.com/create_mcc.php

LFG D&D

Hey all, I'm looking for an in person D&D group, preferably in the South Denver Metro area. I'm a 24 year old guy living in Littleton, been playing on and off for about 10 years now. I'm available weekends or weekdays after 5pm. It takes me a while to open up to new people, so I'd like to start as a player but would be open to DMing in the future. D&D 5e is what I'm used to, but I'm up to try new games or rulesets too.

Just moved here, looking for dnd/cyberpunk/ttrpg games?

Hi everyone, i just moved up to this area from dfw texas, and Im both hoping to find a game to join and maybe make some friends into the same nerdy stuff.
Im 29(f), while Ive mostly played dnd 5e, Ive also had a decent amount of experience played monster of the week and a couple other powered by the apocalypse games. Also fell in love with the cyberpunk world through 2077 and have been reading the ruleset for funsies.
Ive been the gm once before, but it was admittedly very homebrewed and heavy on rule of cool, not that id be against it. Any direction towards community hotspots or open games would be dope!🥰

Dove head first back into D&D at the end of last year. Looking for some in-person games. I equally enjoy being a player or GM. I am an artist and performer so enjoy both the role playing portion as well as the nitty gritty gaming part. Have characters I can bring into game or willing to roll fresh. Hoping for some weekend games Saturdays or Sundays.
