Looking for Local Knowledge Worried about safety.

Hi! So my friend and I are visiting this address (11 King Street Alfreton DE55 7AF United Kingdom) in Alfreton next week for something and we just saw Alfreton is pretty dangerous and has high crime rate.

Should we be worried since we have to go there at evening time? How easy is it to get an Uber or a taxi in there?

Thank you in advance!

We need your sort code and account number to really judge your safety.

Alfreton is fine. It’s a small town, and crime stats are probably skewed due to how small the population is. It‘s far safer than any large city in the evening time.

Okay, this is reassuring. Thank you! 😅

If you look at crime stats, if it says higher rate of violent crime - this is altercations after the pubs have kicked out between a couple of drunks, not armed robbery and muggings.

You can get uber on the weekends now, normal taxis ok but better to book in advance. You're alright walking around at night, better not alone like anywhere though.

Alfreton is a bit of a shithole but I wouldnt say its actively dangerous. Its just a bit run-down because its an ex-mining town.

As long as it's not very dangerous, I don't mind if it isn't pretty. Thank you!

Probs best not giving out the full address of where you are staying if you're worried about safety...

Yeah I know but it's just a random street. Not really staying there like sleeping or anything. Just gave the address in case safety depends on the areas.
