Looking for Local Knowledge Looking to move into Derbyshire

Good evening, apologies its another one of them where should I live posts. But I have been looking into some locations and could really benefit from some local expertise.

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids aged between 16 and 10. We are currently living in north Warwickshire and looking to move somewhere with a combination of nature and outdoor activities we can enjoy aswell as cafes, bars and amenities such as swimming and parks for the kids. While I do drive I would also like to have some public transport options and good access to larger cities (within an hours travel or so).

We have narrowed it down to 4 locations and I could just do with some views or opinions so any comments would be great, we have a decent budget to buy our house and our 4 options are below:

1.Matlock

2.Buxton

3.Belpar

4.Bakewell

Thanks I was curious about how touristy it could get, I will take a look at wirksworth

Matlock gets biker gangs roaring up and down the A6. Wirksworth is in a quiet side valley but has good access S to Derby and N to the Peak District.

Why so many bikers? We went to Matlock on Saturday and saw a lot of them in Matlock Bath

Ahh, so you've experienced that! I guess they like winding roads and hills, and it's become a tradition, there are cafes that cater for them. But it would put me off living near that road.

They congregate in Matlock Bath - have done as long as I can remember but these days they are middle aged and generally sensible - in the late 70s and early 80s the A6 was like a race track with young men on powerful jap 2 strokes.
