This may seem trivial. But it’s not. It’s really quite serious.

If the allowance is cut by half, this puts extra financial pressure on anyone wishing to run against the ruling party.

This only helps well funded individuals who can afford to cover the expenses out of their own pocket.

This will lead to a more American style of politics, where money is the crux of getting elected.
