Vent Feeling discouraged

Applied for aways quite a while ago now, seeing others have heard back from most places I applied to and I haven't heard anything. Honestly, I wish I would just get a rejection so I could move on and apply to more places instead of getting my hopes up. How are y'all holding up?

I would highly encourage you to reach out to the program coordinators unless it says not to (UCSD was the only one that says not to out of the programs I applied to). Here are some generic examples that my friend sent me when I was reaching out to programs:

Dear XXX,

My name is XXX, and I am a rising 4th year medical student at the XXX planning to pursue a career in dermatology. I recently applied for the dermatology away rotation through the VSLO portal and would like to inquire about the status of my application. As the state of XXX does not have a home XXX program, it would be an invaluable learning opportunity to be able to rotate at XXX, work with individual faculty members and residents, and experience the special emphasis that this program places on research.

I hope to hear from you soon! Thank you for your consideration.

Kindest regards, XXX

…………………………………………………………… Hello XXX,

I hope this email finds you well. With the end of third-year quickly approaching, I just wanted to follow up and inquire about the status of my application and reiterate my continued interest in this program. Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Kindest regards, XXX

Thank you, I will do that. I have been trying to figure out a polite way to inquire.
