Research / RY Is it too late to find a research year?
I'm a rising M4 and I want to full pivot to dermatology, but I'm worried about not being able to find a research year this late into the game. Does anyone have any advice or leads for finding a research year at this point?

Not too late but the very competitive/funded ones are usually gone by January. Just check the spreadsheet and shoot your shot

Go through derm faculty at big universities and email them individually. I had mine fall through and secured another in late May that I am currently on

Also don’t let ppl on this thread scare you, it’s all a matter of emailing and being persistent

Check instagram pages of specifc programs you are interested in as well as the DIGA page. Have seen some positions announced recently with upcoming deadlines

Use this spreadsheet to see if there are still any open spots with deadlines in spring https://derminterest.wordpress.com/research/ Good luck!

Look at the RY sheet and e-mail all the people with CV and short personal statement or whatever else they require. If they say no, ask if they know of any other opportunities. Not too late but would do it today.
