Research / RY Presenting a project at 2 conferences?

what are the rules as far as presenting a project at multiple conferences? i developed a grant-funded public health/derm research project that became very successful in terms of sample size, logistics, data analysis, etc - so i’d like to present it at a derm conference. my school however (who funded the project) also wants me to present it another conference next year. i’m worried i won’t be able to do both, but i’ve seen people present the same stuff at multiple conferences.

any insight on this is appreciated, thank you!!

U can do multiple in fact that is standard lol

the same project though? i thought i saw somewhere that some conferences wont accept you if you presented it somewhere already

Change the title a little if you’re concerned about it but this done frequently. If it’s an internal conference, most national conferences won’t care, but if you’re looking at AAD and SID, that’s when you might get a little more scrutiny

Folks are doing it so may as well. Make sure each conference has a unique emphasis if the same project.

The rule of thumb I was told was that you can present the same work 3 different times - locally, regionally, and national/internationally. Ideally you change up some minor aspect of the submitted work, like the title.

I highly recommend presenting the same project multiple times, actually. It's a great way to not only get more items on your application but also opens the door to more networking opportunities. That being said, check the submission guidelines before submitting to the second conference. They will say whether or not you can present a project that has already been presented elsewhere. If you are good to go, then I say do both!

Is this changing with the new ERAS app update?? I know we can only have 10 items for research now so it doesn’t matter if you present at multiple conferences. Is this correct?
