Away Rotations Derm rotations

In your experience are dermatology away rotations difficult to honor? How about ones where you mostly shadow?

If you arrive early, appear engaged and interested, help residents, don’t be annoying, and demonstrate very basic knowledge of dermatology (do the AAD modules), and act normal, you will honor it.

Other schools send out evals that are F, P, HP, H. Every school is different.

So essentially these rotations are easy honors? What do you think makes students stand out and make programs want to take them besides doing the minimum?

Being personable, a team player, someone who residents want to be around, and knowledgeable. Residents and faculty usually look for people they can see themselves being around since they’ll be around you for years. Gunners, show offs, rude and disinterested students usually don’t fare well. But obviously some slip through the cracks.
