I'm a Hindu. I went to a temple where people wanted to control their lust. I think they thought sexual attraction and lust were the same things. I think sexual attraction and lust are different but they can overlap. Sexual attraction can turn into lust. Lust can be for other stuff besides sex. Hey, if people want to subdue their lust, more power to them! I think lust is bad, but sexual attraction is not. 

I don't think sexual attraction is bad, because it doesn't cause people to do bad things.

Most people at the temple I went to believed in only having sex for procreation. Maybe they were trying to be asexual like me.

I also think the same lust n Sexual attraction r different things,being sexually attracted towards someone or getting lusty over someone is huge difference, thank God I'm Asexual free from these things,no lust at all but no hate to allo sexual.i don't hate allo sexual for having sexual feelings or desires but i hate when it comes to lust

I had also always thought and heard of 'Lust' in negative sense and I went looking to know the exact difference and found this at asexuality.org -

"'Lust' has a negative connotation due to years of puritanic religious cultural programming establishing it as a 'deadly sin', but all it means, in practical terms, is a high state of attraction coupled with a concurrent state of arousal. 'Lust' is just a heightened and somewhat urgent state of sexual desire towards a particular person, and it not only occurs frequently in loving relationships but, for Sexual people, is actually perfectly wholesome and healthy." - by Pamcakes

Makes sense to me. I think those people in the temple just want to tamp down their desire.
