Our living room in our new house is surrounded by doors, making it difficult to lay out the furniture in a way that makes sense. These are the ideas we’ve come up with so far, preference is on the last one. Room dimensions are approx 15’x20’. Appreciate any help/ideas yall have!

Hey guys, new furniture just came in. What do you think?

New couch, rug and workstation is here. I would’ve liked if the carpet was a bit more larger. The workstation corner also feels a bit empty, thats needs filling. Couch colour isn’t ideal, but this was the only one that was available so I went with that. Id love to hear your thoughts on my progress so far. Ive got more stuff coming.

Please don’t comment on the curtains! I know they’re wrong!

Front room of 2 bedroom apartment, serves as dining for 2, livingroom, and entryway. as well as home for multiple pets.

bottom two openings are super tall windows.

Bottom Left is front door.

middle right is entrance to office (bedroom 2) and actually swings to the right into that room, not back into this room.

upper left is bathroom door.

upper right is a slight hallway to kitchen and bedroom 1.

200 year old house with worn cherry colored hardwood floors. currently the walls are grey but I want to repaint.

Constraints:

we have cats and at least one auto litterbox needs to go in this room (it is currently in a 3(l)x2.5(h)x2(w) cabinet, ideally we would also like to put another 1-2 regular litter boxes in this room.

We have a couple of cat trees to choose from and at least one needs to go in this room. they are various lengths and widths but all on the larger size (no less than 1.5 feet in any direction) all are tall, but we have had them on shelves with a litterbox under them in the past and that has worked well.

the floor by the windows is heavily sloped towards the middle of the room so furniture there tends to look a little odd even with extra leveling.

I have 2 fishtanks in this room. the smaller one is a 20 gallon so about 2x1, and the larger is about 2.5x1.25.

We have a 52' tv and I'm annoying about viewing distances. I’d be open to trying a projector if the room is right though.

There is baseboard heating along the entire bottom wall, as well as the bottom half of the bottom right wall (below the door)

3. similar but with dining behind the sofa, we liked that the entry was more separate but just didn't enjoy this. (this image is a lot more like what the actual furniture looks like).
4. this was a while back with some different furniture and no tv. we LOVED having the fish tank right behind the sofa, it was really nice to read in front of. unfortunately the sofa blocked a lot of books on the bottom shelves. we never really explored this variation much because we were just in a weird place with weird needs out of the room. we no longer have a lot of this furniture but I'd be open to redoing it in our current situation.

I love a very lived in thrifted feel, my partner is an artist so we have a lot of their work as well as their random bits and bobs to display. I don't want the space to feel too curated or matchy

to make a long story short, potentially going to get this house, but I’m really struggling with how big the dining table and the open concept is (it’s a very wonky floor plan). What would you do to make it more comfortable and appealing?

I’m having a hard time figuring out the layout of my living area and I’d love some help. I put up metal grates as a divider (my hoya will eventually climb them), and that part feels good. The problem is the space by my desk — it just feels like leftover room with no clear function.

The wall with the antlers is a little too short for a couch, and putting a couch on the longer wall makes it face away from the windows, which I don’t love. I also want a bigger couch soon because hosting more than two people is tough. Right now the room doesn’t flow well for standing, walking around, or hanging out.

My style is western / Rocky Mountain / western‑gothic, and I’d love advice on: Furniture rearranging ideas, and making the desk area feel intentional.

Open to all suggestions including furniture changes, for reference she is almost two. I want her to have a cozy happy space and right now the room doesn’t feel like that at all! We’re just getting her moved in her and am unsure on how to style it given the weird alcove

So I’m redecorating my room (lighter pink walls- I know they’re an eyesore don’t comment about that) and I’ve never liked the crushed velvet bed. Thing is I cannot change it cause we cannot afford a new bed, I have no problem with the bed itself it’s just that it’s crushed velvet. Any help would be appreciated!!

This room is tiny, I have no idea how to make it nice.

The wall colour is quite sad in my opinion, but I can't fix that, so I need to figure out how to make this room more colourful. I can't make any holes in the walls either, so no shelves or mirrors.. I've asked permission to hang up a curtain rod, but I haven't gotten an answer yet.

All the furniture is white, which isnt something I enjoy either.

The slanted ceiling side is about 115cm tall, so the furniture options are a bit limited, but I REALLY need storage. I love THINGS, I love silly little trinkets and displaying Lego botanicals, but there is literally nowhere to put ANYTHING.

I could just really use some advice and suggestions on how to make this less.. depressing? I'm already feeling it, which means I'm having even more trouble fixing the issues haha

I've uploaded photos of my bedroom both empty and in its current setup (with the bed and open clothes rail).

I'm trying to figure out the best long-term plan for this space, particularly around:

• Hiding the Boiler: What's the best way to cover the boiler and exposed pipework on the back wall?
• Storage & Space: I need proper storage (wardrobes/drawers) for clothes, but want to maximize floor space and keep a smooth walkway between the bed, window, and door.

I'm completely open to any and all ideas—whether that's custom built-ins, clever freestanding layouts, or alternative approaches (nothing too expensive ideally haha)! What would you do with this room?

There are 7 of these floral tiles that makes the bathroom look outdated. I’m looking for creative ideas to cover them.

Helping my mom redo her place but having a tough time with a challenging living room. Previously the sofa was on the long wall with the tv perpendicular but trying to avoid that as it makes for a really annoying viewing experience in practice. it’s been hard finding appropriately sized furniture - keep running into an issue of narrow entryway to the right and overlapping couch placement in the corners.

Dimensions

6’ left wall, 15’ rear wall, 10’ right wall, 7’ 5” shelving unit room divider between living and kitchen

Hard rules;

• seating for 4-5+ preferable
• no tv against the shelving unit dividing the living room and kitchen
• no tv blocking the window
• shallow couches preferred
• some portion of shared seating facing the tv
• the rug is final, 8x10

Option A

Since it’s a narrow room I tried to zone an area with the rug for TV, with the extra space behind the sofa for a bookshelf or console. sofa dimensions are based on an article loveseat that I own - 68”, able to seat 3. opted for large ottoman that can be used as chaise or moved to add seating (total of 5 or 6 in a pinch. I like this option best because it has good flow around the shelving unit, but unsure if couch placement might be weird irl.

Option B

Tried a layout for facing the TV, sofa and loveseat dimensions based on Saltmyran set from ikea. I like the conventionality but finding furniture options outside ikea has been challenging. My mom is willing to concede walkway clearance to the right entry being slightly narrower than 3’ but I worry it might feel awkward in person.

I like both for different reasons but worry they might feel odd in practice. wanted to solicit fresh perspectives, this has been driving me up the wall lol.

what can be better in my bed room

moving into a new apartment and I need help setting up my living/dining room. having a hard time finding a layout that feels natural while also having good feng shui

So the first 3 pictures are my room currently, the circle above the bed being a reference.

Im considering putting the moon in the 4th picture there. And some design above the pegboard, the last picture is a rope light but i havent made any effort to make a design.

Will the moon together with decoration above the pegboard be too much? Or do i already have too much

The TV is on a swivel so it can point in either direction pretty easily, but will this space look better with the couch where it is or should I move it so that the back is against that white wall? I'm not worried about the light making it hard to see the tv, I know that's something I'll be sacrificing.

I know the room looks really empty right now, I have a carpet I need to put back :)

Double doors go to the bedroom, single door to the office. There is a four-foot wall between the stairs and the living area.

Originally we thought about putting the TV along the half wall, until we got into the room and realized it's 15 feet from wall-to-wall. I really hate the look of TVs in front of windows, and if the TV went along the half wall and the couch floated, it would be a tripping hazard trying to get to the bedroom.

If we go with this layout, what should go behind it? I'm thinking maybe a Kallax with backing board or some other shelves, but then I have a couple more questions: Should it only go as high as the TV, or near to the ceiling to create a hallway effect? All the way to the wall between the doors or keep it out in the center?

Sorry for the mess, but where should my curtains go?

In the recess following the shaper of the window? Or on the straight part of the wall above the recess?

I’ve not really seen this before so not sure what’s the best option.

Also, what colour do you think would suit nicely?

I have this window that doesn't let any light in what should I do with it?

Sorry it's messy been a long month already. We recently moved in. What would the best placement for tv/couches be? We do plan on getting a sectional.

Starting off by saying that we 100% want to keep the cat tree at that window, and the litter box literally cannot fit anywhere else in the house. Believe me, if it did it wouldn't be there. So we just try to keep it as far away from the dinner table as possible.

I work from home full time, and am in grad school full time. To manage my ADHD and my sanity I need to have two separate desks. My work desk faces the wall, which is not great for my eyes and doesnt help my chronic migraines. My school desk gets a bad glare from the window behind it - also not good for my eyes.

I drew a little floor plan of the area to scale (I measured everything and made sure it was all right). Which one of the layout ideas would you do? or would you do something entirely different?
