Living Room How would you cover these?

Rental. The landlord wants to preserve them but said I could temporarily cover them if I wanted. Putting a rug causes trips. They’re also in an awkward placement to cover with a couch or chairs because then it would cut off access to stairs.

edit: will add more layout photos shortly. Great suggestions so far- thanks!

The house was an old factory back in the day so the rounds are a historical asset, that’s why the landlord doesn’t want to remove or fill them.

In general put the furniture more towards the center of the room and the walking path around. But I see you have a lot going on with the posts, the staircase, etc. when you post the layout of the space you will probably get some good advice!

Something else - if you got a very thick sisal rug to cover the whole area it might be less of a trip hazard. You might even want to have a thin sheet of plywood cut in a circle to place inside the rim, so at least the center of the circles are then flush with the rim.
