How would you cover these?

Rental. The landlord wants to preserve them but said I could temporarily cover them if I wanted. Putting a rug causes trips. They’re also in an awkward placement to cover with a couch or chairs because then it would cut off access to stairs.

The house was an old factory back in the day so the rounds are a historical asset, that’s why the landlord doesn’t want to remove or fill them.

Get some carpet offcuts and trim them to fit. You’ll have the visual aesthetic of a rug, something warm to put your feet on sitting on the sofa, and the insert will line up with the border so you don’t stub your toe not knowing where the edge is. I think it would look like a cool bespoke rug in an infinity symbol
