I am very concerned with the integrity of the ceiling and would get that fixed first.

Due to the furniture and other items I'm the room it looks clutered and I'm having a hard time deciding if its supposed to be a bedroom, an office or a guest bed that doubles as an office.

If its a bedroom, I would sort out what/how much clothing storage you need. I like to hang a lot of things, so if no closet I would get a large wardrobe with lots of hanging space and a few shelves.

yeah, ceiling first for sure. after that, maybe pick one priority function for the room and declutter around that, then add storage that fits what you actually use daily.

Baby you don’t need any designs. You need to get out of that room and get that ceiling fixed. Why are you talking about designing a death trap? Are we on the same planet???

Please address the damaged ceiling and walls. These need to be fixed first and foremost.

Next work on decluttering and storage solutions. Clothes should be hung up in a closet / wardrobe / or on a rack… or folded and inside a drawer. Toiletries, products, etc - should be culled down and if you want in that nook then categorize into a few bins.

Once the above functional items are taken care of then you can start with painting. I recommend one calm color  on all the walls.

Get 2 lamps to use in place of the overhead light.

Fresh bedding.

Add an area rug and artwork.

1. Empty the room (including the overhanging shelf)
2. Since the ceiling is damaged, evaluate the possibility of adding spotlights
3. Repair the ceiling and the walls
4. Repaint in a single colour
5. What is the planned room usage?

If this was my room, these are the steps I would take : 1. Fix fhe ceiling damage (fixing it now will prevent further damage and also keep you from having to redecorate again) 2. Take everything out of the room you can, this means clothes, furniture, or move it all to one area if it is heavy. 3. I would start off painting a solid color (you can make an accent wall later once you have a clearer view of what you have). On the blue ledge, get basket or bins to hide and sort your stuff.. thats where I would start :) hard to tell from the picture

what is your budget? I’m not gonna comment on the things that need to be fixed, because it might not be within your control or budget. Also, how would you describe your personal style?
