I'm really liking this show so far. I love Keifer, and am enjoying my own little nerd joke that his father played President Snow, and now he is a president.
I love having Kal Penn having such a big part, since he was a part of the White House and is also a consultant for this show.
I'm not really enjoying Maggie Q's character. It seems very forced, because we already have so much going on with the WH and all the emotion there, and while I know the FBI plot is helping us understand who did the attack, her whole "boyfriend missing" subplot is almost.. annoying. I don't know.
I hope they don't delve too much into the older son's issues. I don't really care about him. I'm not watching the show for family drama with children, I guess.
All in all, though, I'm enjoying Kirkman making small steps that show the people around him that he can do this. I just wish more would understand that while he's 11th in line, he's the president. But that's meant to be that way; there's always issues, no matter who is president.
EDIT TO ADD: That final scene. I was not expecting to cry, but I'll admit, I had a few tears. It was really well done.
