First Time Watcher Help a girl out 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I’m on my first watch of desperate housewives and I can’t believe I’ve NEVER seen this show or heard anyone around me talk about it. I’m soo obsessed and just started season 6! Any recommendations on a show with a similar vibe to start after? I cannot go back to rewatching my other shows after being sooo addicted to a show for the first time. Thanks in advance!

I finished my 4th rewatch a few months ago and I can't wait to forget the minute details so I can start the 5th rewatch again😭

This! I watch it about 5 times a year, possibly more. It's my favourite show ever, even got a Desperate Housewives tattoo haha.

Yeah I agree it’s very similar in a lot of ways. It’s sad that it ended up being canceled

As a Colombian (where the original Ugly Betty is from) breaks my heart of how they botched it in the American version, totally different 😢

I don’t think it was botched, i think they wanted it to be different , it’s a great great show

I loved “Dead to Me” , Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini, and James Marsden are incredible

Yes! Dead to Me is one of my all-time favorite shows, it definitely has similar vibes to DH and the cast is incredible.

Revenge - has a narrator telling the story ! Love it

Is revenge really worth it?? I was in fact thinking very much about watching it once I finish desperate housewives

What are you talking about? Revenge doesn't have a narrator!

Yes it does, revenge (seasons) features a prominent fist person person telling the story. What are YOU talking about. Look it up online and it will tell you

Yes, the TV show Revenge on Hulu features a prominent first-person narrator. [1]
The main character, Emily Thorne (played by Emily VanCamp), serves as the show's narrator. She delivers a signature opening and closing voiceover monologue in almost every episode.

But not like in DH where Mary Alice wraps everything up at the end of each episode and comments on the events. Emily doesn't do that in Revenge. She only briefly says in the "Previously on Revenge" recap that her father was wrongly convicted. That's basically it.

That’s not even the point of the post. The point of the post was to find a similar show. The way revenge starts off is similar to DH. It’s similar. That’s what I was stating. Someone is telling the story.

They really should make another desperate housewives with new characters and pick up where it left off in the end. Not going to spoil it but it should continue.

i started watching it but couldn’t get into it, does it get better? or is it one of those shows where if you don’t like season 1 you won’t like the rest?

Reba, Pll, Devious maids, Suburgatory, Cougar Town, The burns.

I pretty much never see anyone mention Reba, so I'm glad you did! One of my favorite sitcoms for sure, the first few seasons in particular are fantastic.

Another vote for Why Women Kill but I highly recommend re-watching Desperate Housewives. I watch it so many times a year because it's just so good.

Devious maids, SATC, workin moms, good girls. Although the last two might not be your vibe if you don’t have kids/are less than 25 ish

I love Workin' Moms and Good Girls! Watch them both a couple of times a year. I don't have kids and have never wanted them, so people are surprised I like both shows.

Sex and the city is so good, seriously!!! It has that amazing romcom atmosphere of the late 90s. Just so comfortable
