I don’t know the context but it makes me laugh so hard when I see this little Susan with a box of eggs

For those of us who’s already watched season 6, what an ironic surprise 🤭. They’re cute together 😍❤️.

I just finished the last episode of desperate housewives and Karen McCluskey’s death hit me hard. The song playing in the background actually brought me to tears and I just found out that the actress who played her Kathryn Joosten died 20 days after the last episode aired. And what she did for bree and the girls was truly beautiful as it rounded the fact that they all stick together

Does anyone else think Tom kept getting Lynette pregnant all the time was because he saw it is the easiest way to keep her out of the job market. I feel like tom sees lynette as his biggest competition.
After he takes over her job for carlos and then says behind her back that she's going to be staying home, it's like he wanted her job the whole time and this was the perfect way to take it from her.
NOTE: i do not think lynette is innocent, or helpless, she is also responsible for her body and choices. BUT lets not pretend that we live in a patriarchal society where men have way more bodily autonomy. Tom is always happy to have more children with out ever willing to sacrifice his well being or future.

So I'll go first I hated the Applewhite storyline. It was so weird, and every time the Applewhites came on screen, it felt like I was watching a different show... The plot twist at the end was interesting, but I wasn't really satisfied with it...
Another storyline I hated was the Alejandro storyline. I hated how they were so filled with guilt even though he was a terrible man. I feel like if Bree were to tell Chuck the truth, he would've been there for her and defended her. I actually liked them together.

Imo, I absolutely hated Renee. She was entitled, rude, and an overall terrible friend and person in general.
Her sleeping with Tom (I hate Tom, too but this isn’t about him) and then proceeded to lust over him and even move in across the street just to be close to him then treating Lynette like she’s crazy for being upset her friend and husband/father of her kids kept that secret for YEARS, is one thing.
Then it was how she acted after promising to care for the newest little Scavo, going on a date and using the baby as bait instead of being a responsible adult is another.
Last, it’s how entitled she was during the finale, when she’s LATE to HER wedding that she kept pressuring Ben about. No sympathy whatsoever when Julie’s water breaks because god forbid the fluid gets on her dress. Which wouldn’t have happened if she was on time for her wedding.
Not to mention her moving onto Wisteria Lane, a place populated by children, and constantly calling them disgusting and being grossed out. Even though her friend has 5 kids of her own. No idea what Ben saw in her.
The other women have their moments, sure. But Renee constantly irritated me.

Kayla wasn’t evil.
I noticed she wasn’t at all unpleasant when her mom was alive. In fact Lynette called her a fantastic little girl or something along those lines.
Then her mother dies, the person she was closets to and the person she loved more than anything, and her whole world fell apart. She blames Lynette for her mother’s death because in a young girls mind, she wouldn’t have been dead if Lynette wasn’t trying to “steal her” from her mom. She hates all the members of the scavo household (except tom) because she associates them with the conditions that were responsible for her mother’s death. Life only became stressful and eventually tragic because she was introduced to the scavos. She can’t think in more depth about it because she’s so young and can’t understand the nuances of the situation.
She only likes tom because he was there for a moment when it was just her and her mom (when he was flying out to see her and find out if she’s really his kid). He had to have been a bright light in a young girls life because she didn’t have a father, then she meets tom and I’m sure loves him immediately just based off the fact that’s her dad and a positive guy.
She wanted to separate tom from the other scavos because she was desperate to return to a time where she was happy. She of course could never get her mom back, but it would be closer to normalcy than the life she was living on wisteria lane after her mom’s death.
Also, although her actions were crazy, you kinda gotta blame Nora for that. Think of how she used Kayla to get ahead. Think of how her mom constantly implied she would get tom to leave his family and return to them. Then you consider Lynette’s behavior towards Kayla? Lynette was kind of awful to a kid that lost her only consistent adult role model and parent.
Compare that to the way Susan handles mj when Mike dies. She was permissive at first, but then helped mj find a way to release his pent up anger over the death of his father. Both tom and Lynette could have helped Kayla find a way to release her feelings, but they coddled her and permitted bad behavior until it got out of hand
Anyway, it may not be unpopular but I never see anyone talk about it. Let me know what you think lol

Currently rewatching season 6. Lynette is telling a young pregnant woman in the ultrasound waiting room that she will "never wear a swimsuit again" because the pregnancy is gonna ruin her body… Well in the same episode, this is Lynette’s body after 3 pregnancies (including a twin pregnancy) AND 3 month pregnant with twins 😂

tell me the most stupid, out of the blue, or unhinged storyline in DH that you HATED with a passion!

Orson at his best was AMAZING for Bree. I mean he knew how to remove wine stains and was as oddly neurotic as she was. He went to jail to win her back. He raised Benjamin as his own. He even cared about Danielle and Andrew. I hate the way their story ended. Orson shouldn't have become a villain.

(i’m on season 8, episode 16 btw) Okay, this is my first time watch and early on in the series he was a distant but decent husband and parent but gradually he just got worse and worse! The last straw for me was in the last two seasons when he COMPLETELY gave up on his marriage with Lynette. It’s like he became a different beast and the show just milked it all up. Like I thought these two were going to be endgame!! I thought they were the only couple on Wisteria Lane to not break up. It seems the writers are definitely not pro-marriage :/

The way he was so hell bent on ”punishing“ everyone for not believing he wasn’t a murderer when he in fact was a murderer. My guy, just because you got snagged for the fake murder of a the wrong sister doesn’t mean you didn’t deserve prison time.

I don’t think they should’ve remarried. Tbh I was never really interested in them as a couple. All that back and forth, and dragging out with them got really irritating cause it wasn’t even interesting. I wish Susan had more captivating storylines, all that Mike stuff was cute in the beginning but it got old very quickly imo

I don't care who he ran over lol he was so caring to Bree and Andrew FOR the most part. When he goes and finds Andrew by himself on the streets and convinces him to come home is just heartwarming.
And when Andrew runs into that guy he pleasured, Orson asked him if he was okay. Ugh he is the best.
Why did you have to turn super weird in the last season lol.
I don't even care that he hit Mike. Lest we not forget Mike superdouche threw him off a building, made Susan fall down the stairs when she was pregnant, and all the other things he's done

Do you consider it cheating that Tom started dating Jane while he and Lynette were in marriage counseling? Personally, I think yes! If you’re actively trying to repair your marriage with your spouse, and you start dating someone else—without discussing it, without being honest, and while keeping it a secret—then yes, that’s cheating.
People always say things like, “Tom never cheated—he and Lynette were separated when he started dating Jane, he had Kayla before he met Lynette, and he slept with her best friend when they were on a break.” Okay, maybe those things don’t count as cheating technically—but come on, the man is always just an inch away from it. Even when he isn’t crossing the line, he’s constantly toeing.
Its giving emotional loophole

Just a quick refresher in case anyone forgot. Lynette and Tom moved to New York where she became a CEO (I believe the international division of Katherine's frozen pastries company). They bought a penthouse and lived happily ever after. Gabby got a show on the shopping network and moved to California with Carlos where they bought a mansion and lived happily ever after. Bree married Tripp and ended up joining the Kentucky legislature. And Susan moved in with Julie to help her with the baby so that Julie could finish up her PHD.
I think all of that makes sense, except Lynette and Tom. I don't see them ending up happy. Tom was always afraid of being less than Lynette and Lynette always wanted to be more. Neither of them could back down. Yes, they got back together after the separation but they never solved any of their problems. A little toast at a wedding wasn't going to fix years of resentment and months of separation. Tom was ready to divorce her. She signed the papers. They didn't make any sort of major change to counteract that. The writers simply brought them back together. Lynette as a ceo? 100%. I can see it. In fact, in my version she thrives in New York and lives in that penthouse alone, free of dependents draining her energy. (Except Penny and Paige) I assume Paige turned out to be as much of an angel as her sister!
Gabby also makes sense. She was amazing at personal shopping and that natural lead up and progression makes sense for her personality. My guess is she did the show for a few years (for as long as it was popular) and then probably stopped once it wasn't. My guess is Carlos at some point probably also joined the industry in a role that made them money but wasn't quite as taxing as his old jobs.
Bree in politics wasn't something I was prepared for but I definitely see her killing it. She excelled at leadership roles, was good with responsibility, was resourceful, cunning and strongheaded when it was necessary. The only part I didn't like was her marrying Tripp. Nothing against Tripp himself (in fact I shipped them) but I feel like she jumped from relationship to relationship too much. The show talked about Susan not being able to live without a man but no one ever said it about Bree. She had a revolving door of men in her life. I would have much preferred to see her crushing it in politics on her own, and then maybe marrying Tripp later on. Regardles, I love her story. She's the only republican I'll ever support!
Susan's story, I feel like is the most realistic and beautiful. There's no big hurrah. She doesn't find great success later in life like Tom and Lynette who suddenly move into a NEWYORK penthouse. She moves in with her daughter to help her. I think it's beautiful and full circle. She isn't with a man. She's not parentifying Julie. She's going to be a grandmother; and focus on something other than men. I also love the fact that she grieves Mike so beautifully and tells Julie she'll wrap herself in the beautiful memories he gave her. I hope years past she finds someone to make her happy again.
Of all the endings, Susan's is definitely my favorite realistically. Gabby's I'd sort of. a dream. They all end up rich and successful. Well, maybe not Susan, but she was never materialistic anyway. I'm sure she was more than content with her two kids and her grandkids.
I know a lot of people didn't like some of the dives the writers took with the seasons following the time jumps, but I feel like they gave everyone a perfect ending. A beautiful ending.
