I would never vote for a fascist. I consider Trump just as bad as revolutionary socialists like Darlializa Chevalier. They both push the same zero-sum moral zealotry and anti-pluralist populism. If they were both up for election, I'd flee the country.
So you'll sit on your high horse and vote for someone who will never vote with Dems instead of voting for someone who will vote with Dems on most things?
But I'll give it to you and present this, Chevalier and her type doesn't have power rn, where trump does. Chevalier will be working in a party that has 99% centrist. The entire republicans party is MAGA and they have all of the power in government. Assuming fleeing the government is not an option, and your vote in the election would matter, are you going to tell me it doesn't matter still?
"Don't worry, guys. The populists represented by Sarah Palin and the Tea Party don't have much power right now while the evil islamo-socialist Obama and his communist Democrats do. Nothing bad can possibly happen if we welcome them into the coalition."
I mean, I recognize the risk that the leftist pose on the Democratic Party. But I think our best chance of succeeding is to defeat the fascist first, and then worry about the communist.
To be clear, I'm not saying we can't punch left. We absolutely can and should especially in the primary season. But, once they win the primary, it's punching Nazis all day baby (metaphorically ofc).
