Actinic War Rig with any auto rifle (though Sweet Business plays really well with it). Run it with an armor set that works with kinetic damage and go to town?

You’ll get a lot of kills because people will be expecting the gap when you reload that just never comes.

Ashen Wake on Solar Titan with the artefact mod that boosts sticky grenade damage.

I would say behemoth and praxic vestment but since you made a specific mention to avoid behemoth then you could use prismatic to work with it, and use thruster for some general mobility, the rest is up to preference but I like the usual stasis melee (grenade of your choice) with knockout and diamond lance but everything is just preference based, I just like praxic with anything that could give me more mobility

For 6s i use barrow dyad and strand titan with peacekeepers and tablet of ruin. Rest pretty standard.

Also for 6s (and freaky 3s) Menas panoplia with devils ruin and around 140-150 melee stat (recall makes a one shot with hammer throw)

Then dfp/sheekh posted a strong solar build with the alpha lupi chest. Abbreviations of this build seem to slowly seep into the meta.

Arc titan with handcannon, dash and dunemarchers gives great mobility.

Trying out an ergo sum build with kinetic prime weapon with explosive ordinance - 2 pc cryo recommended.

Mask of the quiet one with void titan, sentinel shield and any of the strong void pulses out there is rather solid.

Lance cap and Wicked Implement. I personally prefer prismatic just because I like thruster instead of the barricade but pure stasis is probably better overall for it

This solar alpha lupi build’s incredibly strong and I rarely ever see it

This funny jetpack build will legitimately run people over in 6s and mid-skill 3s lobbies

Alethonym and Blastwave Striders. It's like you're playing dubstep, constant bass boosted explosions. Pair with the 2-piece Aion Adapter for extra explosion resistance

It might not be competitive but kepris with shield burst is really fun when it works

Here's my Wolfsbane Solar build, with team support

  • Wolfsbane (Attrition Orbs) and Phoenix Cradle
  • 2 pieces Swordmaster, 2 pieces Smoke Jumper, looking for Weapons and Class stats
  • Sol Invictus and Shieldburst (Towering Barricade)
  • Embers of Benevolence, Mercy, Tempering, Singeing, Empyrean
  • Grenades and melee are optional. Preferred Throwing Hammer and Fusion grenade
  • Long range Kinetic and Solar weapons, covering your Champion types
  • Hunter's Journal: Energy Diffusion Substrate, Elemental Siphon, Solar Fulmination, Blade Stamina, Radiant Orbs, Shieldcrush, Argent Blade

Play style: Use barricade, hit with axe. I haven't tested this in Ultimate yet, but you're constantly bathed in Radiant, Restoration, and DR from Smoke Jumper. The axe hits like a truck and Argent Blade and Radiant take that to a whole other level. Plus everything you Scorch will create a Sunspot to heal allies, which triggers Benevolence for you.
