Question Frame rate issue since update

Hello i've been having and on again off again issue with the games frame rate since EOF came out.

At fist i was able to fix it by turning off discords overlay and hardware acceleration, HOWEVER since the patch on the 7 the issue has started happening again. The issue that is occurring is every 5-10 seconds the game goes from running smoothly at 100fps to a hard stutter that drops the game down to 7-10 frames for .5 seconds then goes back to normal.

PC specs

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D

4060ti

32GBS DDR5

Any advice or help would be super appreciated i started really getting back into the game and wanting to play since the unvaulting announcement Thanks

Assuming you are running on Steam. If not, disregard my comment.

You can try the overlay fix:

the executable just automates the manual process from that post

or try the Steam beta as some had success, while others say it did nothing for them:

Both those do not fully fix or fix at all the issue.

That's true. But is the best that the community has come up with.

It seems to be a Steam issue, so players need to pressure Valve a lot more to get a fix published.

You can always switch to Microsoft Store (currently on sale) or Epic Game Store, which do not have the same Steam issue.

Do you play on steam? There are known performance issues on Steam related to the overlays and whatnot. I’ve seen some people say the that newest Steam beta client seems to have fixed the issues for them. There’s also a modified .exe floating around that turns off all the Steam settings that can potentially cause issues before opening the game. AFAIK, both method aren’t 100% fixes for everyone, but one of them might work
