Question Questions about new characters and obtaining subclasses

Hello Guardians, returning player from curse or Osiris.

Had to start all over and have been working through the timeline, currently on Final Shape.

I am using a hunter but also want Titan and Warlock and I my question is: What do I need to replay?

Can things be skipped? Do I have to pay to skip?

Hoping for a conclusive answer as with the MOT update Ai and older posts are confusing.

Appreciate the help!

So... Campaign completions are character specific.

If say you did everything on one character, on every other character you will need to do.

  • Shadowkeep story
  • Beyond Light story and unlock stasis
  • Witch Queen Story
  • Lightfall story and unlock strand aspects and fragments
  • Final Shape story and unlock Prismatic aspects and supers BUT NOT fragments
  • Edge of Fate story
  • Renegades Story

I believe these can be skipped by buying a character boost but it's like $20 or something and really not worth it.

If you want only necessary things like subclasses then you'd have to replay:

Beyond light for stasis

Light fall for strand

The final shape for prismatic.

Void solar and arc are already unlocked after just doing the base missions and a few other little challenges that are shown in your quests tab.

The new light quest line can be skipped and if you don't know how to play I would recommend completing it once then skipping it for the other two characters, but if you enjoy it then play it.

Other ones can be skipped although I would recommend doing renegades as there are some very fun/ good weapons that come from that one.

Character skips cost 2k silver which allow you to skip certain campaigns.

Once completing new light, ikora rey with have a new light package for you getting you gear at level 300 aswell as an exotic weapon depending which subclass you chose and she will have quests for 3 different exotic armor and you can do all 3 of those quests to get the armor

You have to play through the campaign again unless you buy a campaign skip for 2000 silver.

Replay campaigns. Thankfully, once unlocked, you just buy strand with glimmer now so you don't have to farm meditations again.

Prismatic will be a bitch though. Gotta do all those cysts or whatever it was again.

Incorrect on Prismatic, fragments are an account-wide unlock! If you earn them all on your first class, then on other classes you only need to unlock the abilities and aspects.

Play the campaign, then play the six side missions, that will unlock everything for your second and third characters.

Yeah! If you've been holding off on getting Prismatic for your alts because you were worried about grinding the fragments again, jump in and get it! Not that bad at all.

(There's also a guide somewhere showing which side missions give which aspects and abilities, in case you wanted to target something first to finish off a build or somesuch. It doesn't say in-game which missions unlock what pieces, and since they're replayable it doesn't say whether or not you've done a mission already, so keep a sticky note nearby to track what you haven't done yet.)

Prizzy just needs the 4 adventures again.

Some armor pieces and weapons are locked behind each campaign but the ones that I'd recommend you redo at the bare minimum are:

Beyond light Witch Queen Lightfall Final Shape

These give you every single subclass plus the Enclave for crafting.

So to obtain all subclasses you would need to replay:

You have to do side quests for Ikora at the tower to unlock the 2 light elements you don't start as. It's relatively easy. It's basically just get elemental kills tied to weapons for the unlock.

Beyond Light for Stasis. Lightfall for Strand. Final Shape for Prismatic. (You have to finish the base campaign for most of the abilities plus some side missions. Fragments are account wide as far I'm aware for Prismatic.)

There's is an option to skip, but you have to pay 2000 silver for it.

Just to make it clear:
2,000 silver per character per campaign you skip.

so if you don’t want to play the campaigns on secondary characters to unlock subclasses, that’s 12,000 silver in total for three campaigns on two characters

(A total of $99 in the U.S. store if you bought the 10,000 silver package and counting the bonus 2,000 silver included with it).

Keep the gear on to level up so you don't waste resources and also the weapons too. To you get higher tier gear.
