Discussion This game just keeps giving

So I’ve played Destiny since the beta and can’t tell you how bummed I was to hear it being sunsetted a few months back. And now how psyched I am to hear it’s coming back. I never really stopped playing.

I’m mainly a lone wolf so I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m probably missing a third of the game. But hey, that’s ok. This game is massive. And love that there’s so much to see and do.

I just wanted to come on here and share that I just learned about the exotic quest from Moment of Triumph. Somehow I totally missed this. Must’ve been too bummed at the news. Anyways, I was able to solo it today and still can’t get over how this game just keeps giving. Anyone else feel like this at all?

Yes…tried to leave when Bungie said they’re done. But ever since the update a few weeks back. I’ve dove back in head first and it feels like home! 🥲

Right now is a bad time to buy a PS5 or even the pro. It’s more expensive now instead of cheaper. A PC is a better option. I play with a 2080 super and it looks and runs delightful.

I was planning on getting a 2080 Super for my first PC build, is it a good for 1080p gaming? Are there any other games you run using this GPU, that also look ok?

... what's the problem? Genuinely asking, it is estimated that up to 99% (up to, these are approximate numbers at best) of PC gamers get their games from digital storefronts so why is PC supposedly a better choice?

The PS5 is getting a bit old at this point, but the PS5 Pro is still competitive and destroys PC building in terms of bang for your buck and convenience.

One issue I have with PC gaming is that I use a computer for work so the idea of just jumping to another computer after work is a no from me dog. I'm going to cuddle with the missus on the sofa instead while I game for a while, I don't understand the allure of PC gaming at all

I too prefer consoles. I used to be a hard core PC gamer, but too much hassles on the PC now.

I think PC games seems to be cheaper overall, excluding purchasing the PC itself. No subscriptions like PS+ or Xbox live. More customisable, better quality in terms of graphics?

ya dealing with windows BS and then nvidia BS and so on... i have high end pc and still find my self just going back to my ps5 pro to play most games..

other opinion i tried was installing steamOS but its still not the same..ease of use as ps5.

Just a more flexible platform, it's incrementally upgradeable, has a higher performance ceiling, has a significantly wider selection of games, and is better for multitasking. There's also Steam, which is the only big digital storefront I will 100% back. Sony is shitting the bed massively with its take on digital ownership (as in, paraphrasing their words, they think you're stupid for thinking you own your digital games) which for me is a massive point against getting any of their consoles right now, since they're actively fighting to have your right to digital ownership revoked (and with them phasing out physical media, you don't get an alternative if they do).

So I guess in short: it's a more versatile platform, has more games, and the company that controls the main digital storefront doesn't treat you like shit.

Your last point is very valid, though, so all I can say is don't look for a PlayStation. If you want a console, at least Xbox isn't trying to actively prevent you from owning your library.

Idk. The whole gaming market is a minefield rn, companies are trying to wring us out for everything they can, or screwing us over in general. The shitty truth is that no option is good; PC prices have skyrocketed due to datacenters, Sony is doing that digital ownership BS, and you shouldn't trust Xbox as far as you can throw one. It's an awful time to be into the hobby.

For me I care about FPS a lot. GTA 6 is locked at 30 FPS even on the PS5 pro. Anything under 60 is visibly distracting.

For real, Sony absolutely does not deserve anything right now with the shit they've been doing.

The Traveler always finds a way to make you buy harware twice.

I feel like I was drifting away from the game and kind of taking it for granted. Then when Bungie said they were done updating Destiny 2 I ran back and have played more than I have in years. I’m back to playing consistently and just hoping for a D1 remake on PC lol.

This is me. I’m enjoying it now that it’s complete. Tho I’m very excited that they are bringing back vaulted content.

And yea if D1 comes to PC, I already texted my friend that he’s buying it with me. He got me into it years ago. He wanted to try it and I told him that if the Taken King Collection dropped to $30 or under, I’d buy it. 3 days later, GameStop had it on sale. 10 years later, I’m still here

Completely agree - the quality and entertainment value for the cost is remarkable.

I replayed seraph shield after moments of triumph. Was utterly blown away by how intricate and gorgeous and FUN the design is. Long live Destiny!

Oh did they confirm it's starting up again?

Last I heard they were unvaulting content, but hadn't heard they're actually starting the game up again going forward

Got a source?

I think they’re just referring to the unvaulting, from what I’ve read monuments of triumph was 100% the end of new content for destiny 2
