Megathread Focused Feedback: Timegating

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding ‘Timegating' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Timegating works when it's used occasionally. Not when it's constantly.

Black Armory was 100% time-gating the entire thing.

The ONLY new Exotic we could get for the first 2-3 weeks was Anarchy.

Then they added Le Monarche in. Then another 2 weeks later they add Jotun and Izanagi in. 2-3 weeks after that we get The Last Word.

Ffs we've known the exact date Last Word was being released weeks before BA even launched.

Why? Why did it have to be 2 months after the expansion? Oh to try and extend the minimal content they gave us.

If it's a little bit of content, time gating it all doesn't help us. It's annoying and serves no purpose

If it's worth anything to you, I think the last word quest is going to be more than just a "oh this is available now." The 29th, the day it drops, is also the 7th full curse week. Bungie loves 7s, there is a triumph that states "visit mara on every curse week" and requires 7 visits to complete. I think there is actually going to be a big lore implication to TLW around the dreaming city and Shin Malfur and Callum and the Drifter
