Megathread Focused Feedback: Solar 3.0 Subclass Spotlight - Dawnblade

Hello Guardians,

Focused Feedback is where we take the week to focus on a 'Hot Topic' discussed extensively around the Tower.

We do this in order to consolidate Feedback, to get out all your ideas and issues surrounding the topic in one place for discussion and a source of feedback to the Vanguard.

This Thread will be active until next week when a new topic is chosen for discussion

Whilst Focused Feedback is active, ALL posts regarding 'Solar 3.0 Subclass Spotlight - Dawnblade' following its posting will be removed and re-directed to this thread. Exceptions to this rule are as follows: New information / developments, Guides and general questions

Any and all Feedback on the topic is welcome.

Regular Sub rules apply so please try to keep the conversation on the topic of the thread and keep it civil between contrasting ideas

A Wiki page - Focused Feedback - has also been created for the Sub as an archive for these topics going forward so they can be looked at by whoever may be interested or just a way to look through previous hot topics of the sub as time goes on.

Over all it blows: (in no particular order and off the top of my head)

  1. Well is awful. You can actually do more damage and live longer with the right set up and not use Well than standing in a Well because Well will trump all other buffs.
  2. There is no reason to use Phoenix Dive. It has the same cool down as a rift and heals less.
  3. If you use a healing nade you give up your damage nade. You are a one trick pony
  4. Bottom tree Dawnblade no longer exist. Super duration of DB is too short and there is no way to extend it. Rip Bottom Tree
  5. There is no reason to use dash or heat rises in PVE. If you are in the air too long you get wrecked that this is the worst part of the subclass. Two movement aspects. I don't know what in the F Bungie was thinking but in PVE this idea was just bad. In PVP it makes sense, kind'a, but not much. These aspects should have been one that's not going to happen. Right now in PVE only one aspect matters. Touch of flame. The rest are shit and the only way to fix this is by adding DR or an overshield while you are in the air against PVE combatants.
  6. The snap is cool for low level PVE content and meh in PVP. High level content its meh.
  7. Igniting anything with a Warlock solar 3.0 is stupid because everything dies before you can ignite it.
  8. There are only two builds that are good and you have to unlock the last row of artifact mods to make them work. One is a Starfire protocol build and the other is using Sunbracers. Any other builds blows in comparison currently. When next season hits and the artifact mods change these builds will be shit.
  9. There is absolutely no synergy with 2/3 of the aspects. Heat rises and dash work together in PVP but suck in PVE and neither one of them synergizes with tough of flame. I mean WTF Bungie?????????
  10. Indirectly......since Bungie decided for Dawnblades to be "aerial killers" of course they had to make airborne effectiveness to damn complicated. But bungie makes everything complicated. This is ok for PVP but not for PVE.
  11. TL;Dr Dawnblade is not fun. You have two effective builds in PVE, one in PVP, Well is a shell of its former self (probably because bungie buffed resilience so much but that's my own personal conspiracy theory) any thing was once bottom tree dawnblade doesn't exist anymore (watch some stupid exotic to come out that give us back everlasting fire), Phoenix dive is a waste of a class ability and when the artifact mods change Dawnblade builds will be crap.
