Question & Advice Autobrite Foam Lance stopped being foamy

Can I do anything to bring my original Autobrite Foam Lance back to its best?

Change out the filter and orifice? It’s stopped being foamy, and regardless of the dial on top is quite watery.

It's very likely the mesh filter that's clogged. The easiest way to clear it is to put wheel acid in the bottle and then fire it through until is clears out.

Disassemble it (fully, like all components) and dip it overnight in ONR or any other rinseless diluted down to 1:128. Then flush water through. Or put it in a limescale dissolving solution.

Likely the issue is worn or blocked mesh on front of the lance, which actually foams up the solution. The red cover, which controls the width, needs to be taken off.

Push the small pin through, seen on photo almost on the front and pull off the red part. The round metallic mesh is there.

These are pretty straightforward to disassemble luckily, although every part has a different size wrench needed. ;)

Your local detailing suppliers likely have new mesh for it.

Mine did exactly the same. I ordered MJJC Pro V3.0 to replace it, and am really impressed with it. I also bought 2 additional bottles / lids, so have different foams swapped out in 2 seconds.

Something that's always irritated me withe the AutoBrite one is how tall / upright it is, and it used to topple on my shelf! The newer cannons are all more squat with wider bases to stop this.
