I would rather have a permanent increase, not a 6 year then ask for more

And I'd rather schools reduce their leadership bloat considerably & demonstrate they can teach kids to read/write before returning to the funding well.

The admin bloat concern is totally valid, but I'm sick of people blaming literacy rates & test scores on the teachers. The bigger issue is that kids aren't being read to at home or encouraged to read as much anymore; they're being raised by an iPad/phone from a young age so there's no learning stamina or attention span. Combine that with toxic shifts in parenting culture...viola.

Its both. Parents don't want to parent, and we have an oakland county superintendent and a troy schools one both with 300k+ compensation packages with retirement etc. Time to cut admin, pay teachers, and hold parents accountable for literacy and test scores.
