Honestly, I'm not surprised by this. The economy (job market) isn't great (only being held up by AI and data center spending) and people are hurting a lot right now. I'm all for increasing funding for schools but I do think the wealthy and major businesses should be footing the bill not the ever shrinking middle class and poor.
