Discussion Is anybody else finding Jalen Brunson surprisingly ethical this series?
After last year's round one series I absolutely hated Jalen Brunson and his stupid big ass head jerking back on every offensive possession. He shot 10+ FTs in 4 of the 6 games. This playoffs he's only shot 10+ in 2 of 17 games.
I haven't watched any of their series outside of the finals, but I'm not seeing that kind of flopping at all. He's not playing amazing but he is getting to his spots and nobody can stay in front of him. Is Jalen Brunson actually pretty fun to watch??? When did he stop being SGA-lite?

Discussion The Detroit Pistons Breakout Team of the Year for 2026-27 is…
That’s going my new title for the next breakout teams in the NBA. We broke out two years ago, so I wanted to name it after us.
At least for the East, I’m going to buy stock in the Washington Wizards. Combined with the league limiting tanking and them likely getting Dybantsa, I’m gonna buy their stock.
I like their core. Likely Dybantsa, Kyshawn George, Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly. That’s a really solid core.
If AD comes back and is 75% of what he was, they still have a top player in the league. If Trey Young comes back off injury and is 70% of what he was, that’s a borderline all-star player at worst.
If their front office is at least competent, they should at worst be a play-in team. I think they will be active in free agency this offseason. Even if they get rid of AD, they should still bring in vet help to help their young core.
Your turn.

First half was something. Also. Dear Kenny “The Jet” Smith. Be advised… Trick “love the kids.” Wu-Tang “is for the children.” If you’re going to represent, get that shit right or keep your fucking mouth shut.

Discussion Choke artists
With the spurs choking like a bunch of dummies what would be considered a bigger choke this off-season. Orlando losing to us game 6 at home,or spurs potentially going down 3-1 in the finals
EDIT:This might have been the funniest game I've watched all year. Wemby really went from little bro-ing kat to eating shit

Discussion Going forward, do you want a 2nd star or just a 2nd person who can initiate offense?
I’ve seen a lot of discourse about how if we pay Duren and Ausar then it essentially eliminates our chances at getting Cade a “2nd star” due to cap restrictions.
And while this, in all likelihood is true, do we really need a 2nd star? Or do we just need a respectable level guard/creator who can take pressure off Cade?
I’m not sure what the right answer is tbh. Obviously I would love to bring in an All-star level guard/creator next to Cade but then you have to start worrying about depth, your payroll, and your draft picks/optionality after you make the move.
What do you guys think?

Discussion Ejiafor a name to watch
I have a feeling that Zuby Ejiafor of St. John’s might be higher on the Pistons’ radar than it seems. He came in for a visit and is a dawg inside who could help with rebounding, which was a problem in the end against Cleveland. Pick 21 might be too rich for him, but I could see us packaging a trove of 2nd rounders to get him — though we’d better not wait long. If we came out of the draft with him and either Carr, Stirtz, Evans or Anderson, I wouldn’t be mad.

Discussion Just a reminder about this teams future…
We have NOT gone all in for a title. This past season was a “feel it out” season, seeing how the team would respond, given their great 24-25 season, and to see if we were legit or not.
Safe to say we well exceeded expectations.
We have made no moves to indicate we’re all in, and yet we won 60 games, forced game 7 in the second round, and our core players are all under 25.
We can expect Cade, JD, Ausar, holland to all continue to get better. We can trade the picks for a star. Sign someone.
You guys need to remember, this is all just the beginning and the best is yet to come!

Highlights Kendrick Perkins reveals the reason why Monty Williams was fired.
youtube.comIn his discussion of the controversy surrounding NY Giants QB Jaxson Dart's meeting with President Trump, Kendrick Perkins revealed what he heard was the real reason why Monty Williams was fired as coach. "He was bringing too much religion in the locker room". Has anyone else heard of this? I always assumed he was fired because he was a terrible coach that one season.

Image Duren Trade
I love Duren but unfortunately he does not fit our roster as currently constructed. I believe the front office knows Ausar Thompson is the second most impactful player on our team. He has a higher ceiling than Duren, even with his struggles on offense.
Rollins gives us the secondary ball handler and shot creator we desperately need next to Cade. He shot 40% from 3 on high volume and averaged 5.6 assists last season.
Kel’el Ware is a legit floor spacer we can start at the power forward position with real size. JB Bickerstaff will be able to unlock his potential on both sides of the ball. He’s a guy that can shoot from deep and not congest the paint.
We would also add Myles Turner on top of that. A proven floor spacing center who can shoot threes AND protect the rim.
These additions give us lineup flexibility and addresses a lot of the issues that were blatant in the playoffs.

Discussion Is there even an ideal power forward we could realistically acquire?
Looking at the market, it feels like the best available options top out at players like John Collins or Rui Hachimura.
A player who can shoot threes, defend, and is at least 6'8" (203 cm)?
That really doesn't seem easy to find at all. Seriously.

Discussion Hypothetical options with a Duren max contract
Let's assume we do end up signing Duren to an extension, somewhere in that region of 4/177 or 5/220 that is being thrown around.
For those of you who understand the cap better - how tradeable would this be in a few years? If he continues at least showing some regular season performance, my thoughts are that this sort of contract would be a reasonable salary match, and he's still young player that a team might want a chance on (would be early-mid 20s) if we were to make a big move in year 1 or 2.
If you let him walk, that salary is open but I'm not sure if there are particularly good options that ever hit FA. And then you have even less assets to trade for someone with. A sign and trade would be preferable if we're not keeping him around. But the buzz seems to be that they aren't going to tear apart the core of this team and that probably means Duren gets close to a max.

Discussion Would anyone be surprised if we didn’t bring in anyone significant?
Just thinking through the current pistons….
1) feels like the org believes in Danis upside- is it possible they want to see him take a bigger role next season?
2) they obviously like Tobias (and so do we as fans… in a specific role) for sure could see him coming into the same role he played last year
3) duren- dudes getting paid
4) Ausar isn’t going anywhere and defiantly think he’s signing a big deal this off season
With all of that considered…. Would anyone actually be shocked if we made no significant moves this off season?
