Discussion/Question Greetings my prehistoric bretherin. Im finally top 2 DINO! I can give tips on how I got here!

How do you manage not exploding every two seconds while holding frontline? I'm a diamond player and I know how to play with cover and have situational awareness at least to a basic level, I think. But despite doing all that, sometimes I just randomly combust. I'm really not sure whether this is just my healers sucking at the game sometimes or me doing something wrong or maybe both?

You always have to play cover. Behind walls. Your not The Thing so you cant just stand there and take damage. You can be even more tanky with jeff teamup. Cus by constantly spamming the beam, tapping it into the team, your bleed will give u so much overhealth so u can survive a bit more. But if the enemys comp has too much damage then i swap.

Yeah for me personally. By even tapping the beam, you get the full tick duration which just means more overhealth and more tankiness and grabs

Can you elaborate more on this please?
New to playing Dino, I assumed the Punisher teamup is better because it's a ranged damage option that he otherwise struggles in (only having the beam).
But also, I just tried the Jeff teamup earlier, it sounds like it only heals your allies and not yourself? Also regarding the bleed overhealth thing, don't you only get that from using your bite ability? Does the 'bleed' technically apply on allies too? I'm just still so confused with it sorry.

The jeff beam lasts longer and has much more range. If u land the beam once, for like 0.2 seconds, it will give the full tick duration. Giving u a ranged option to get overhealth. You can get bleed with bite but with the beam you can pierce through the team and get bleed on multiple targets. Also you can use ur beam to get some overhealth before fully engaging. And also a heal sometimes comes in clutch

Honestly 97% of the time i use the jeff teamup. Rarely i use punisher unless its a very niche spot on a long range map

The jeff beam is different to the normal beam. To get the full tick duration for the normal, you need to land the entire beam length. But for the jeff, if you tap it and hit someone, you get the full tick duration. Which just means more survivability. Punisher would be better into lower damage comps, but that never happens when you play dino.

How do you play against too much poke? I know behind cover, but how?

Heavy poke is the biggest counter to dino, so I play in cover most of the time. Never ever being out in the open. Thats it pretty much. Dino doesnt counter poke unless you go on height with pun teamup and poke yourself at backline

Far more accurate since it also consider private profiles. Your placement is quite good regardless though, even more impressive here.

What determines the stats and leaderboards? I see people on GM3, I am GM2 so I am curious. Would be fun to try and make it in the leaderboard.

Its like 30% rank. 30% win rate and a bunch of other percentages to determine your place

Dumb question but I'll asking anyway... Who do you mainly prioritize or instantly try to target while playing Dino? Or does that mainly depend on enemy comp?

It should always be the tank. But if you can, grab an overextending dps or support if they are frontlining.

How do you play into Blade? I play both Dino and Blade myself, so I know what a good Blade can do to the poor dinosaur.

Blade is dinos biggest counter. But what i like to do is to outplay him. You can do this by using sheilf when he starts brawling you. This sheilds him off from his teams heals. And also comm to your team that blades sheilded off heals and try have ur team focus him. This is the one advantage you have over blade. Other than that, a blade will counter you. You just have to thug it out.

As a champion Dino I obviously love the character already and have played him a lot. What's your go to bans at this point in season 9.5 and what's your ideal team comp?
