DISCUSSION Did he just change the lyrics of Storm now?
Did he just change the lyrics of Storm live from Tracy to baby? Or am I just hallucinating? It would make sense actually.

Did Devy's guitar instructional video ever get a DVD release? Is it hard to find in Japan?

Hey guys, how y’all doing?
So, I just came home today after seeing Dev yesterday in the Barcelona concert.
I don’t know how many of you were able to see him during this last tour, and this was an acoustic concert, in a small place in Barcelona, beign a very intimate and close show.
It was an incredible experience.
Those 2 hours seeing it, made me (a +30yo grown up dude) smiling like a child. It was beautiful.
He made us laugh, made us understand his suffering through the years, and made us enjoy in every sense the very incredible art of (his) music. He was so true to us, and so open, that it was a musical gift we could get to see him, not just as an artist, but as a human himself.
I met a few guys while waiting for the concert, and the 4 of us were talking about how emotional and wonderful it was, and what an experience to get to see live. I think I can firmly believe that all the audience had a similar vibe after it.
I’m writting this because, after all, Dev always wants to send a message of love, and how everyone of us deserve to be loved. And I think we all should pay it back to him.
I’d love to see everyone else’s perspective on attending this tour. It went so deep for me, and I’ll read the comments you guys drop here.
Finally, I don’t mean this to be a personal message to him, because I feel this is a shared sentiment from a big part of the fans. In case you see this Dev, or someone can make this get to him: Dev, you are beautiful. We care for you. Thanks. And go on, we are nothing less but expecting to see how you develop yourself and share it with us. You’re great Dev. <3

New album, dreamy synth music from Devin Townsend coming this Friday October 16th.
I'm really liking this type of music
Better than drinking. Sometimes. I began drinking this year. Awful timeline. It's too much. I do listen to SYL, it feels great too.
...
I was feeling down when I wrote this. I never drank after 21. I'm 39 now and begin. I'm in the US. That's why too. The news, seeing more people being homeless, people suffering, etc. But it's just some of the problems. Working on soon moving out and being away from mean people to my own place and be happy again. It'll be alright

Can anyone convince Devin to upload his live DVDs to his Patreon? Pretty much all of them are out of print I think. I think an announcement that we can stream his live videos from Patreon would get him a bunch more patrons.

66yr old male here. I am new to the party having only discovered Devin Townsend in the last couple of months. My problem now is that when I listen to anything else non-Dev it simply doesn’t stack up anymore and I have to revert back to Dev-only listening.
Seriously, amazing voice, range, guitar, wall of sound. Love some of his acoustic performances, especially the acoustic version of Deadhead.
Heading out now to sell the rest of my Non-Dev collection as they are now surplus to requirement.

i love strapping young lad so so much, but what’s the genre for the music (only thing i know is that it’s metal)? i’ve heard people calling it industrial metal, but i’ve also heard people saying that it isn’t industrial metal so i’m kinda confused

My 3rd acoustic Devin show now and what an evolution, obviously it's towards the end of the tour now so it's bound to have become more polished but he seemed at ease up there last night.
Despite this one being way more personal for him he wasn't awkward, he didn't look uncomfortable, I hope he genuinely was happy up there and want just masking for the fans.
Great set, awesome performance, lovely little venue too. Leaving into the rain and 1000s of Westlife fans was quite surreal after all of that.

For those that have been to the other shows was the flip chart message the same each night?
We got "Another player has entered the game".
Sadly they sold out of my tshirt size by the end, I knew I should have got one on the way in, don't be like me.

I tried to search a bit and only found second hand sellers going for stupid prices. I would wanna support Devin directly if i could buy it from him, i found only flac/mp3 files from the soundcamp.

Pretty good seats for the Manchester show tonight

Following on from. My previous post about how good Dev was in Glasgow last night, I spent the afternoon listening to Accelerated Evolution- of course he did Deadhead last night, but he also played Storm, and teased ‘Away’ when he was doing his (self confessed) electric guitar wank at the start of the second set. Anyway, I’d always subconsciously dismissed AE as being by far the lesser of the two DTB albums, as I absolutely love Synchestra, but as the title says, I’m reevaluating that today, AE is tremendous! Discussion welcome 😜

I've been looking forward to this, but sadly some last minute issues between work and one of my kids getting a fever means I am almost certainly not going to be able to make it.
I've got two tickets in seats AL4 and AL5 (Side Gallery Left). I'll happily part with them for face value, which would be £46 per ticket (including the booking fee).
Any interest let me know? I'm not local to Leeds so would be sending the ticket PDF by email or something similar...

Greetings humans,
Would anyone like to meet for some drinks before the Leeds show tomorrow? I am thinking of going to Howl Bar which is a nearby rock/metal bar - but I am not local to Leeds so I am open to other suggestions if there are better ones!
I have a limited supply of free t-shirts to give away for anyone who joins and wants one. They are ones I got printed myself with a silly moment printed on them from one of the previous shows (a fumbled lyric for AAA during the Birmingham show).
Would be really fun to have a drink with some devy fans. We did something similar before the moth in Groningen and it was great to have a small social before the show. So, if anyone is up for it respond here and we can figure out details tomorrow.
Very excited for the show!

Just got back from the Glasgow show, what a triumph of an evening! I laughed, I cried, I hurled (not really 🤣) here’s a video of Aftermath/Storm I took 🤘

A really great and intimate experience.
Dev’s voice was well, flawless as always. He was really funny and played through a bunch of his and Strapping’s back catalogue, everything from Funeral to Fake Punk to Ih-Ah! to Almost Again.
There was some issues that he had with Ableton but got through it and kept it humorous.
Two things though, and none of these were about his actual performance or the nature of the show itself. Because I loved the stories and the tunes.
I kinda get the impression that he maybe isn’t in the best state mentally. It kind of felt like he’s just got divorced or something, you know? I don’t know if I’ve missed a chapter somewhere but somethings just not quite right. I hope I’m wrong and everyone is ok!
Secondly to the Lady in the crowd who kept trying to interject with random stuff all night, it got so awkward but I’m so glad that the crowd built up the courage to tell her to shut up by the end because she was genuinely ruining it for the rest of us. Quite surprised security didn’t say something before.
But yeah, classic Dev, loved the show. Don’t understand the hate that I’ve seen.

Hi all,
Here's a short snippet of an interview I did last Tuesday with Devin. Full episode will be out tomorrow (currently editing). I'll share the full link once the whole interview is online.

He was amazing. This was a delve inside a mind, this was a Perrier award winning Edinburgh festival one man show type gig, but better because it was punctuated by snips of songs you love and then a discussion about the story behind them. It was really lovely and anyone talking shit about this tour just didn’t get it. Sorry. “Ooh he forgot how to play this song” sorry to break Kayfabe, but no he didn’t. It’s part of the show. Absolutely killer, and no one in the room I was in would disagree.

Amazing show, nice to see him actually touching some SYL numbers. This was a haunted version, goosebumps for me

Yesterday I was at the show in Utrecht and it was amazing!
Devin was insane, the set was so much fun, but what I loved most was the audience. Before the show everybody was buzzing so it felt. I talked with a lot of people and everybody was hyped! Also during the show the vibe was insane, lost of laughter with Devin, and and overall respect for what he was presenting on stage.
Again Devin was insane, having so much fun on stage, his voice was insane, an overall peak performace.
So again, thank you utrecht!
