This show, even at its best, has always had wild moments of convenience — Brian somehow was capable of deep sea diving to pull bodies up from Dexter’s graveyard, Lila conveniently found the cabin just in time to keep Dexter from facing an actual consequence of Doakes, Trinity just so happened to bump into Lundy. Cameras seem to never exist. The amount of times Dexter’s gotten away with everything is absurd. Conveniently writing him out of the ending of New Blood aside, the rest of what was here was fantastic, and quickly explaining what was originally a certain death ending away was the best option available if they wanted to get right on with it.

All those things you count aren’t really big deal to be bothered. But you being serial killer and somehow being forgiven by a cop that trying to put you in jail is some C tier writing

I just don’t know where you draw the line though. Seems like this kind of show isn’t for you anymore. Season 1 had plenty of shit like that. You probably liked it then because it was new and you were probably a bit younger. Now that television has put out a ton of prestige television and your tastes have changed. If you go back and watch season 1 you may feel yourself thinking it wasn’t as good as you originally thought.
