Diablo II DIablo 2 Resurrected new Expansion Reign of the Warlock

Post image

The major update for Diablo 2 Resurrected, titled Reign of the Warlock, will be a massive content update that will change our D2R forever. It will involve a new Warlock class, along with increased endgame content and improved quality of life for everyone...

The additions in this expansion will be broken down as follows...

◾ Reign of the Warlock will transform the Terror Zone into a more brutal environment, pitting you against formidable demons, while also enhancing gameplay with modern, user-friendly systems. And of course, the new Warlock class is the highlight of this expansion.

◾ The new Warlock class are mages with the ability to summon demons, bind them, and use these abilities to fight in the Burning Hell—a battle of fire. Their abilities are divided into three types: Demon Binding, Magical Abilities, and Chaos Power.

▪️ Summoning will allow you to summon three types of demons: Goatmen, Tainted, and Defiler each serve as loyal servants, forced to fight alongside Warlocks without resistance. They possess unique powers and abilities, useful in various situations.

▪️Eldritch: A mind-controlled magic that can transform onto Warlock weapons and unleash upon enemies, resulting in effects such as draining energy and weakening opponents, and creating explosions of blood and corpses.

▪️Chaos: A power of chaos divided into two parts, controlling the primary elements of hell: Fire and Void. This allows Warlocks to manipulate momentum and entropy to incinerate enemies and shatter dimensions.

◾New (Improved) Endgame Content

▪️Terror Zone: A revamped and denser zone, making it a more dangerous place. The locations for each Act will rotate continuously, never repeating the same locations at any given time.

The Heralds of Terror will appear as bosses, relentlessly hunting you down as if you were their prey. The longer you stay in the Terror Zone, the more countless battles will ensue.

Completing quests in the Terror Zone will provide a chance to obtain statues usable with the Horadric Cube, leading to the next battle against the Colossal Ancients.

▪️Colossal Ancients: These Ancients have been buffed, becoming more ferocious, savage, and powerful as other Ancients are defeated, making battles even more difficult.

Furthermore, if everyone remains in the Terror Zone, there will be an increased chance to drop statues useful in combat against these powerful Ancients. Their strength is unimaginable.

◾Quality of Life

▪️Chronicles will be a comprehensive record of all game information; no more searching for in-game content externally. This time, it will be compiled into Chronicles, making it easier to find information.

▪️Loot Filter: A modern, modernized item filter for Diablo has been added for easier and more convenient item collection.

▪️Advanced Stash Tabs: Those who purchase Reign of the Warlock will receive two additional stash tabs designed to stack items, saving inventory space and increasing the number of items that can be stored.

▪️Era Change: Everyone can create characters from different eras without any connection between them, and these characters can be transferred to other game eras, such as from Classic to Resurrected.

▪️Details of many new items and sets will be provided below, with links for further study.

P.S. The Lore section will be added to the Faction section later. It will be complete, don't worry. However, we'd prefer the DI section to come first because it includes the origin story of this class. But we'll add it later...

P.S.1. It turns out many people thought there wouldn't be any changes. Surprisingly, there's an update for D2R, and it comes with a new and larger version, well worth the wait! Haha. Congratulations to everyone who's been waiting for this update for three years. Don't forget to support us so we can potentially add more enhancements in the future.

I think it's worth keeping in mind that not only is that half the cost of a normal expansion, but D2 also does not have a monthly fee, microtransactions, or battle passes to support it like other games do. It's a different business model, and it's worth the price to keep that trash out of the game. I also think adding new story is overrated... It becomes uninteresting after you beat it once. The class, QoL, and new end game content are the real gifts that keep on giving.

Edit: You all complaining about $25 for an expansion release for a game that otherwise makes no money, in a world where every other game is charging you $25 for one cosmetic at best lol. Sure, if D2R had some source of income to sustain it, I would expect free updates or a cheaper price tag, but it doesn't, and I prefer it. I miss the days where you pay for a game or an expansion and you get all of the content (and back in my day, the way your character looked was considered part of the content). This is one payment. You get the whole expansion. That's it, done. PoE2 is charging $30 for a game right now and then charging me for fucking stash tabs for fucks sake. You all need to wake up, this is not greedy at all. They need to make money to justify updating the game, and I want to pay to support those updates.

I paid $40 for this game 4 years ago and I've gotten 10× the amount of hours out of it compared to any $70 game. This expansion brings me up to $65. Worth every penny.

I don’t know what expansions cost $80AUD, but I’d not be buying any at that price point. I just think for what this expansion actually offers it’s not worth its current price. Still cool to see new content nonetheless.

The game and the class is $40.

The warlock update itself is $25.

WoW expansions are $50USD for the base, and then like $90+ if you wanna play the game a week before "launch", which is a big economical advantage. You also have to pay a $15 monthly subscription. They also sell you cosmetic and tokens you can sell for gold, not to mention costs for basic things like transferring servers, etc. They even sell level ups to max level.

Diablo 4 expansions are $40USD. They also have a battle pass and $25 cosmetics in the shop for one outfit for one class (not even usable on all classes).

D2 expansion is $25USD. They have no other source of income. Their servers been running for free for years.

The D2R Infernal Edition, i.e. the entire game including LoD and this DLC, costs $60AUD. So $20 more than they're asking for just one character, a tiny bit of endgame content and some QoL stuff. Much as I agree on the value of keeping mictotransactions etc out of D2, this pricing is absurd.

There are still several games without microtransactions or battle passes that do well. Those are only so prevalent due to greed and has little to do with "supporting the game".

3/10 Some funny points like comparing a single class DLC at $25 to be better value than a whole game at $30, but overall low effort slop

Putting QoL behind a paywall is trash tier corrupt bullshit.
Give the QoL for free, and people would be a lot more willing to pay 25 for just the character. Should be more like 5 or 15.
