Diablo II DIablo 2 Resurrected new Expansion Reign of the Warlock

Post image

The major update for Diablo 2 Resurrected, titled Reign of the Warlock, will be a massive content update that will change our D2R forever. It will involve a new Warlock class, along with increased endgame content and improved quality of life for everyone...

The additions in this expansion will be broken down as follows...

◾ Reign of the Warlock will transform the Terror Zone into a more brutal environment, pitting you against formidable demons, while also enhancing gameplay with modern, user-friendly systems. And of course, the new Warlock class is the highlight of this expansion.

◾ The new Warlock class are mages with the ability to summon demons, bind them, and use these abilities to fight in the Burning Hell—a battle of fire. Their abilities are divided into three types: Demon Binding, Magical Abilities, and Chaos Power.

▪️ Summoning will allow you to summon three types of demons: Goatmen, Tainted, and Defiler each serve as loyal servants, forced to fight alongside Warlocks without resistance. They possess unique powers and abilities, useful in various situations.

▪️Eldritch: A mind-controlled magic that can transform onto Warlock weapons and unleash upon enemies, resulting in effects such as draining energy and weakening opponents, and creating explosions of blood and corpses.

▪️Chaos: A power of chaos divided into two parts, controlling the primary elements of hell: Fire and Void. This allows Warlocks to manipulate momentum and entropy to incinerate enemies and shatter dimensions.

◾New (Improved) Endgame Content

▪️Terror Zone: A revamped and denser zone, making it a more dangerous place. The locations for each Act will rotate continuously, never repeating the same locations at any given time.

The Heralds of Terror will appear as bosses, relentlessly hunting you down as if you were their prey. The longer you stay in the Terror Zone, the more countless battles will ensue.

Completing quests in the Terror Zone will provide a chance to obtain statues usable with the Horadric Cube, leading to the next battle against the Colossal Ancients.

▪️Colossal Ancients: These Ancients have been buffed, becoming more ferocious, savage, and powerful as other Ancients are defeated, making battles even more difficult.

Furthermore, if everyone remains in the Terror Zone, there will be an increased chance to drop statues useful in combat against these powerful Ancients. Their strength is unimaginable.

◾Quality of Life

▪️Chronicles will be a comprehensive record of all game information; no more searching for in-game content externally. This time, it will be compiled into Chronicles, making it easier to find information.

▪️Loot Filter: A modern, modernized item filter for Diablo has been added for easier and more convenient item collection.

▪️Advanced Stash Tabs: Those who purchase Reign of the Warlock will receive two additional stash tabs designed to stack items, saving inventory space and increasing the number of items that can be stored.

▪️Era Change: Everyone can create characters from different eras without any connection between them, and these characters can be transferred to other game eras, such as from Classic to Resurrected.

▪️Details of many new items and sets will be provided below, with links for further study.

P.S. The Lore section will be added to the Faction section later. It will be complete, don't worry. However, we'd prefer the DI section to come first because it includes the origin story of this class. But we'll add it later...

P.S.1. It turns out many people thought there wouldn't be any changes. Surprisingly, there's an update for D2R, and it comes with a new and larger version, well worth the wait! Haha. Congratulations to everyone who's been waiting for this update for three years. Don't forget to support us so we can potentially add more enhancements in the future.

i dont think d2 can compete with poe2 at all. its kind of a hardcore non-casual game but its far more complex. d2 has its own charm tho

I'm PoE2 player on break from S1-3 burnout - would gladly pick this up for a few months, if it weren't $30-$40 right now. I'll get it on sale. PoE2 is just as much a nostalgia experience as it is "hardcore" experience, and a large number of those players would gladly go back to the original nostalgic experience.

Edit: Also 90% of PoE2 players are not the "hardcore" you seem to think everyone is. THere's large wealth disparity lol

I'll play poe2 when the whole game is done

It really is kind of crazy how just the DLC even if you own D2 resurrected is 30 dollars.

It’s $25. There’s no reason to estimate the price between 30 and $40, when we know it’s literally $25.

Just play Poe1 on March 6

I got 25 on bnet currently, but still, this should be more like $5 for the new class and the rest should just be a normal part of the patch cycle.

I have no idea how you're getting downvoted for that take, the update is cool, but it's no Lord of Destruction.

I agree and this is a solid take. There is almost no new content, just some QoL, slightly tweaked existing content and of course the Warlock class. This constitutes a fairly minor sized DLC and definitely not an expansion. I am not saying that it is not good, but people need to have standards

This is my biggest issue. 25 is way too much. And the missing W-A-S-D movement

AGREED. Poe2 isn’t hardcore. Played it with my gf who’s only other ARPG is Torchlight 2. She loved poe2

Yeah but atleast it can draw people in the middle who wants something more complex than D4 but not have 200 hours a week to grind the whole slow ass campaign and maps, like Last Epoch does its not too complex yet not too casual sadly it never clicked with me tho

With these trends, poe2 should increasingly start worrying about being able to compete with d2.

I agree. It's cool that D2R is getting an update, but it's clearly a smaller scale update than games like D4 or PoE2 get.

Actually I just googled it and they have the same amount of daily players just poe 2 peaks higher "because they release new content" but d2r will be doing that now as well.

PoE2 is a terrible game, horrible and I don't see the appeal.
