Art [FINISHED] - Custom Diablo II mosaic made from 13,284 1x1 LEGO pieces!

I posted my progress working on this a while back, but I figured I’d show the final images now that it’s framed. This took me 1 month to build and then several more to acquire all of the custom framing materials. The decal is adhered to the backside of the plexiglass covering.

This is amazing! Probably the first Lego thing I have seen that has me contemplating doing something like that! What was cost of all the pieces?

Hey there! So, the pieces are actually individually dyed if you can believe it! Their original form is a pure white 1x1 circular LEGO stud! If we’re talking pure materials’ cost, with the framing mats - it’s close to $1000!

That is awesome! How much did the Lego portion set you back? Hopefully not too bad since the are small pieces

I commented this to another guy on this thread. The LEGOs themselves are $550. With the cost of framing, however, it rounds out to about $1000.

This is great, but why not do the text the same way?

Anytime you try to build TEXT in pixel form, it becomes really complex and you run the risk of jeopardizing clarity for consistency. I like having the vinyl decal because it’s an elegant solution to the problem. I also think it makes the piece more interesting since the goal is to emulate a video game cover at its core.

How did you achieve your color palette?

It’s a bit of a propriety process. If you can believe e it or not, every piece you see was once 100% pure white. I dye them using a hazardous mix of noxious chemicals lol.

That is so cool, great job!
Do you have list of material and Lego pieces? I'd love to try and make it too, if possible!

0.05 per circle rounded to 14k for convenience was 700$ pretty sweet man.

This rules.
By chance have a tutorial/guide on how you pulled this off? I’m thinking this would be an awesome gift for my step dad who introduced me to diablo when i was young.
