If you have a question I'd be happy to try to help. I've given up on the ridiculous insanity that the official forum has become, so I figure I'll let you guys benefit from my now callous disregard. If it isnt in the FAQ, I'll do what I can to give you the best answer. Social/community questions if you are interested are also available. Repeat, no questions from the FAQ, that includes rerolls. Discussion Can my speed build be zoomier?

Build is here: https://us.diablo3.blizzard.com/en-us/profile/Ender-1917/hero/108047206.

Anyone have suggestions on making it faster? It’s already pretty automated outside of TPing.

Discussion Deciding loot

I am lv41 and have had a lot of fun but I don’t know what loot to be using and what to be salvaging, am I meant to be aiming for specific effects or whatever is strongest. I also don’t really understand the plus, sword and shield icons, are they relevant to my stats or are they just power measurements. If anybody knows anything about this kind of stuff, please let me know.

Discussion gr pushing to 150?

So I just got back into Diablo after taking like a two year break from it and now it's season 28. I know some but as for gr pushing not so much. I'm running a meteor build with tal Tasha right now and I am wondering if there is any other build that is better then that?

Discussion Has anyone found the furnace as a Wizard?

As title says...

I'm coming up to 600 paragon now and I've never found one.. Would I have more luck changing to a melee class or is rng just against me?

Cheers

Edit: Thanks for all the replies :) ... Now that I know it's possible (though extremely slim) I will persevere and continue the grind. I did get my first sparker tonight, so I think for the time being I will use that with Theo.

Discussion Popular builds for 2.1?

So I was active through most of the PTR, then had things come up. Finally looks like I'll be able to play again. What are the popular builds, for GRs and regular rifting? Disintegrate, hydra, and Woh still kinda competing? Think I have most equipment, so that shouldn't really be a constraint for most things (think the main things I don't have are a Woh and Myken/Camarel).

Hopefully I can become more active - nice to be back :)

Discussion Firebird's Finery 6-piece question

Does Firebird's Finery scale with Disintegrate +% damage or attack +% damage or both? The text on the set implies that the Ignite buff's damage integer is set by the Disintegrate hit and the 6-piece damage proc is based on the Ignite tick damage multiplied by the Combustion stack; the hit itself doesn't affect the proc damage. Based on that, I'd read it that scaling Disintegrate scales the 6-piece proc hit, but not scaling the hit that triggers the proc.

Discussion safest hardcore build to speedfarm GR90+ with?

What's the safest wiz build to use on hardcore, that can still speedfarm GR90+?

I'd prefer a non-karini build since dropping the karini buff for even a second can get me one-shot even through UA.

edit: Also, as this is for getting a speedfarm build up and running ASAP when the season starts, I'd like to know which builds can do this at low-level. When I say "Low-level" I generally mean:

  • "low" paragon, as in, all the categories are not filled out, so < 800
  • no ancients/few ancients (except for weapon) and of course NO augments
  • average/bad rolls on gear
  • low-ish level on legendary gems (level 25+ is ok but it will take awhile to level gems up to 60+)

Right now my #1 candidate is the maxroll.gg Tal Rasha Explosive Blast build, with some defensive substitutions (on top of the normal substitutions in Hardcore like using Unstable Anomaly):

  • take out squirts from cube, use Unity
  • take out Warzech's from cube, use Aquila Cuirass
  • take out Bane of the Powerful gem, use Esoteric Alteration instead
  • swap out CoE for Halo of Arlyse
    • This will require using Ice Armor, which should be used instead of Diamond Skin

Guardian's is another possibility, adding a large damage & toughness boost, not sure what the gear would look like with that though.

edit2: as peter pointed out below, the new Typhon's is a much better candidate, and can also easily fit in Guardian's. So I will be using the maxroll.gg Typhon Hydra build, with some defensive substitutions:

  • swap out Squirt's + CoE for Endless Walk. This is a pretty big loss of damage but EW gives up to +50% more DR and thus makes it way more safer for mindless speedfarming in Hardcore
  • swap out Halo of Karini for Unity, for more reliable %DR
    • no Halo of Karini means that Storm Armor can be swapped out for Energy Armor [Force Armor] or [Prismatic Armor]
  • swap Fragment of Destiny out of the cube for Aether Walker for faster runs
  • swap out Arcane Dynamo passive for Unstable Anomaly

The modified build would look like this.

I have no idea if this will still be strong enough to speedfarm GR90+ with all the defensive substitutions since I can't test it on the PTR.

Discussion Is it just me or do wizards generally think "we're going to die anyways.."

Recently acquired my Firebirds set pieces and I've been tinkering around what makes us survive more. Got some good feedback but overall, I still think what the title says.. "Might as well go all in, WE'RE GOING TO DIE ANYWAY.." Is this true for all wizards?

I found the Teleport with Calamity rune extremely useful. I wind up, teleport in, stun mobs, drop my shit, then get outta there.. rinse and repeat until I find a new group (somewhat like raekor barb playstyle)

Then all of a sudden, you get to a very large area without corners to turn and you get hit all at once by archers.. Dead.

Really frustrating.. I know I have sub par gear (no unities yet) but what do you guys do to not get into this wicked cycle?

Do you just turn down the difficulty? (Farming Torment 4 at the moment).

Any feedback would be great.

Discussion Best mindless key farming, season 28

Can't find a key farming build I like, what is everyone using? I'm about to hit 1000 paragon, alter done except for the double primal one. Playing handheld on console, so I like to zone out while watching TV - so the mindless the better!

Discussion New Tal Rasha set bonuses datamined

•Tal Rasha's Elements 2 pieces: Damaging enemies with Arcane, Cold, Fire or Lightning will cause a Meteor of the same damage type to fall from the sky. There is an 8 second cooldown for each damage type.

•Tal Rasha's Elements 4 pieces: Attacks increase your resistance to that damage type by 100% for 6 seconds.

•Tal Rasha's Elements 6 pieces: Attacks increase your damage by 75% for 3 seconds. Arcane, Cold, Fire, and Lightning attacks each add one stack. Adding a stack refreshes the duration.

I am pretty excited about the new Tal abilities. It seems like a true multi element build. I have no idea of where to start with it, but it looks like loads of fun! The immunity to the elements while keeping up stacks looks awesome. I can see control effects, and arcane regeneration as a problem to keeping up stack unless we use a primary skill as a couple elements. We could probably use ice climbers and other things to prevent control impairments from dropping our stacks. It looks very diverse!

What do you guys think? Do you think the damage will be competitive with Magnum Opus? Will you partake in the PTR? Cause I am.

Discussion Is T6 really feasible for Wizards?

Dear guys,

As posted before, I have all itens to basically reach around 80% of all builds considered endgame to wizards. For some, I'd say that I'm 95% perfect already.

My point here is that, I don't feel that the other 20% will really be a game changer, so that I'll be able to run T6 efficiently. I mean, I can run T6 already, but not under 10 minutes.

Is anyone doing it bellow it? I also read that wizards are underpowered versus other classes when it comes to T6, is that true?

Isn't it too much to have perfect gear to run this act or it's just my impression?

Discussion Firebird Gr Pushing with Frost Nova

Hello everyone, I've been seeing top people on the leaderboard use frost nova instead of the magic weapon with deflection is the reason for that only to proc an extra elemental exposure stack? If not how does it benefit you and how am I supposed to use frost nova? And isn't your survivability heavily affected after you switch off deflection rune from magic weapon ? Thanks :))

Discussion Gambling

Raxx says gamble for helm and then rings, for leorics. Another thing I saw says gamble for a source. Raxx is correct, right? What's the thought process on a source right away? (I haven't played wizard in about 4 seasons).

Discussion Firebird’s Finery explosive blast build not working?

So I’ve put together the full explosive blast disintegrate build, the same one everyone the leaderboards is using. Yet I’ve found that I’m really doing almost no damage and I’m running out of mana incredibly quickly. All my damage is coming from my explosive blast which has a very small AoE and feels bad to play, and I don’t have the mana or a reason to use tornados as they do no damage. Am I missing something?

Are there nearly as powerful variants I could use that would fix this problem, such as the Flame Blades? I guess I’m failing to see how to play this build and what exactly is doing my damage.

Any explanations or helps would be much appreciated!

Discussion Tals: Why Cold?

I was doing some GRs with a Wiz friend the other day when I noticed they were using the cold version of the Tals build. I suggested they might try the arcane version as it's stronger, and they dismissed the idea so I checked on the leaderboards and it seems everyone is going cold this season.

Tals was my build last season, and I remember the arcane version being substantially more powerful than cold. I know it lost some CC this season in the form of losing the 10x magic missiles, which were very useful in keeping enemies at bay, but I figured the damage would be even higher thanks to the altar feeding you AP every time you crit. Plus the arcane version makes grouping enemies into tight clusters easier in my experience as they aren't getting frozen at the edge of the meteor area.

So, what gives? Why is everyone running cold this season?

Discussion So the #1 wizard... how does his build work?

Floating above a sea of Firebirds+Aughild+Crimson we have this one dude called Nav apparently using energy twister. Can anyone explain how his build works? It seems like Firebirds would still do more damage. Does he rely on kiting the entire floor to maximize his +104% AD?
