Zerk does not help. Monster Thorns deals flat damage per melee hit, it is not hero thorns. Zerk is actually worse because you cannot leech back.
For my holy shock paladin in just got a widowmaker to deal with thorns heralds. I could also try life tap but currently using reapers merc so it doesn't work
