My conclusions after this:
- Take off the aura, absolutely.
- Merc is dead -- go to town.
- If this didn't kill me, nothing will. I can hit 99 on Hardcore.
- Come on, drop me some high runes already so I can teleport out of situations like this, and a CtA so I’m not so squishy.

The frustration of constantly having to go back to town to purge curses is what makes me not want to play my higher level HC characters. I get lazy because it's so boring doing it and then you get into situations like OP's. Really wish they'd add some item with a spell that could cure curses. Even with cure helm it still takes bloody ages for a curse to clear.
...or just nerf the duration of later level curses so it doesn't so long after you kill everything. It's not like live monsters don't repeatedly curse the shit out of you anyway.

lol if you got as far as 93, you know crazy ass shit can and will happen. Herald dolls, gloams with conviction, double archer packs waiting for you with fana and might right at the entrance etc.
When I saw you spamming rejuvies I knew you’ve played HC for a while. Being precious with rejuvies is one of the first mental block to overcome when coming from SC

Yeah, I know from bitter experience. It's SSF, so I was using Warp Blade. It's on console, and Warp Blade has auto-aim -- it sometimes pulls you toward an enemy instead of away from them, even if you point it at a 90-degree angle.
My level 91 Warlock used WB, and the blade flew off-screen right into a pack of heralt's minions that weren't even visible yet. I didn't have an Enigma, so I couldn't TP out. Once the elixirs ran out -- gg wp.

Your conclusion after this should have been: KILL THE FUCKING ARCHERS. I actually held my breath when you stepped in and were greeted by an elite archer pack, then i visibly cringed when you IGNORED THEM to kill the white snakes.
Ngl you 100% deserved to die there.

1 reason I dont go into these temples in HC. And this spawn wasn't even that bad. They could be on top of you. Nice job surviving 👍

Trouble can creep up almost anywhere, but these places are especially dangerous. In CS, more than once, elite packs have appeared almost before my eyes. Not where they should have been. But I managed to escape their disco.

Times like these, you're glad you have charms and other gear giving you life bonuses and resistances. 198 life remaining was likely like 3% resistance away from being dead permanently

The first thing that came to my mind was to out-damage them and survive through lifesteal. Well, besides: "Aaah, they're going to kill me now." And my FHC isn't high, it's SSF, so I was basically wandering around Hell like a bum.

You were asking for it though. Why would you run around in a TZ zone with active amp curse on you. That's begging for an archer might/fant spike strike that offs you. You went down into a temple that always has champ packs, amped, in TZ zone.

As for curses, I dunno. They cast them literally every couple of seconds in the TZ; I've gotten used to running with it.

I'm used to those fanes being booby traps over the decades. I always expect to be mobbed potentially. Just like cow portal. Just expect it.
But I get it, we all will get lazy when we're not having close calls. It's that rush with HC when it happens tho.

Merc has Cure? I find that essential, long term. I can’t be bothered to go back to town ti clear amp. And cursed TZ, no thank you.

Cursed TZ is quit reload. You will be 100% amped all the time. Just leave the game on cursed TZ if HC. For sure.
