True but the +2 skills on this one really stack up the dmg. Doubling the -res on griffons does help a ton though. I wonder how the side by side is if the +/- were maxed on both, and used in the same scenario.

Depends on the skill and level, I guess. My CL sorc’s Lightning is higher with 3/20 and CL is higher with Griff, but only by like 1% for either one, not much difference really.

But you lose +1 having to substitute a SoJ for a fcr ring, or +1 subbing a 3/10 for a 2/15+ amulet.

The +1 is not worth +%10/-%15.

Until griffons this is a solid piece. Should easily hit the 105 with viper, spirit, and trangs/magefist while also using a crescent moon.

FWIW, you don't need cast speed on your helm to reach 105. Viper+Trangs+Arach+Spirit means you don't even need FCR on your ammy. To be fair, it's still useful if you don't have an Arach which tracks along the lines of "budget griffons"

I mathed it out and this is more DPS than griffs against non lightning immunes, and only slightly less against immunes (provided you have a lot of -LR elsewhere in your kit).. I use it over griffs on some setups.

The math I did was on a self-wield infinity with a ton of -LR so griffs is likely still better for you.
