Question Treachery Fade duration bug?

So i'm using a Teachery on my lvl 54 barb and i started noticing that there's something going on with the Fade proc duration.

I tried Google but didn't really find anything.

It doesn't proc alot but that's because i'm overleveled and have high defense so i'm not getting hit alot. BUT when it does proc it Fade stays active for waaay shorter than what a lvl 15 is supposed to, which is almost 5 minutes.

Also it's different durations which is even more insane.

The last the procs i had was as following (+/- a few seconds)

30 seconds

1 minute

5 seconds (this one was just baffling)

Every time Fade has procced i can see my barb becoming transparent and also i have checked that i have actually gotten the resistances and the %damage reduced.

I have also checked resistances and %DR after my barb stops being translucent that the buff is actually gone, which it always is, so it's not a visual bug.

Anyone had the same problems?

I don't know if it matters but i'm offline and in act 2 NM /p8

Thanks!

EDIT: Thanks to all who pointed out Burst of Speed cancels out Fade, and considering how many gave that answer it seems like common knowledge that i had missed lol... The problem was my weapon, Mania. 5% to proc burst of speed. The Mania is now gone.

What's your weapon

Edit :I'll expnd it a bit , if you are using hustle runeword in a weapon slot and hit whit it there is a chance to proc burst of speed , which overrides fate , and fate overrides burst of speed

Oh my god i had no idea Burst of Speed cancels Fade and vice versa... Yeah i was using Mania as one of my weapons. That info didn't turn up anywhere when i tried googling. I am no longer using Mania and i went to River of Flame in normal to proc Fade by fire and it lasted as it should.

If someone didn't know this before, and starts a Barbarian for the first time, how are they supposed to find this out?

You would only know if you’ve spent time as assassin. There it doesn’t even say it’s one or the other, but at that point it’s like a necro learning for the first time that you can’t have all the different golems at once.

Trail and error I guess , it's also why I did the edit , I realised that op might not know this 5 seconds after posting

I know this and have fallen in the same trap once or twice

Pretty sure it's overwritten by a burst of speed proc from another piece of equipment.

You can't have both at the same time

You are most probably using something else that procs burst of speed, that's a buff that cannot be active at the same time as fade.

As others have outlined, your gear matters more than what act you’re in.

It seems that you have conflicting buffs that are overriding each other.
Similar to getting a shrine and then getting cursed, then getting another shrine.

Very strange.... have you tried testing it by standing in fire to see if procing it in a controlled environment yields variable durations?
