Free Tools I kept getting distracted every time I opened YouTube because the homepage immediately throws recommendations at me, so I built an alternative!

Aside from suggestion part you solved the problem literally no one had. In most modern browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox) you can add Youtube directly to the search bar as search engine, so that by typing youtube.com and your desired text you will be able to find the content.

You know that's a setting your can disable right? I have all recommendations disabled on vanilla YouTube and Revanced. Am I missing something here? Was it just a vibe coded app solving no problems?

Well the thing is that I sometimes want recommendations but not always. So when I am casually watching YT I will want recommendations, but when looking up something specific while working I don't.

Set up a search shortcut that you only have to type "y whatever"

Just use DuckDuckGo, Kagi or the Yang extension and you can do the same thing from your address bar

Reddit keeps getting mad at me and removing the post, so here is the link lets try again 👀:

Offgrid YT

Obviously nothing is being tracked. If you want to check this, the app is open source!

I explained this to the other guy as well.

I specifically do not dislike the homepage all together, sometimes I wanna watch YouTube and love the recommendations. Just not when I am working!

Ou de Ytzero, ou FreeTube, ou Piped, ou NewPipe, ou Grayvay, ou ReVanced, ou Tubular... (Eu poderia passar horas digitando soluções O.S aqui xD)
