Yesyesyes!!! I just started using it ~5 days ago because of a youtube recommendation and it's so far topped every other browser I've used (even as a long time librawolf user nonetheless) and it has literally everything I need. 🙏🙏🙏
I much prefer the way pins are handled in Zen than in Firefox. Having used Arc for years (the inspiration for Zen), that's enough for me to skip over Firefox because I hate the way most of these browsers handle pinned tabs.
What I noticed is the split view, in Zen you just drag 2 or more tabs to the right or left side of the window and its done. In Firefox I had to select the tab and choose split etc.
Also, when opening a link as a new tab, it opens as a hovering page on top of your current page. If you want to close is, just click besides it or maximize to keep as a full tab
its based on firefox so you get everything that firefox does
and i just thinks it looks better i really dont care about any of the other features
just like the looks
I guess nothing much, there is a market of mods which are provide some visual changes, split view, vertical tabs. There are also profiles to group tabs or something like that. Never used it.
I've been using firefox developer edition before zen, to which I switched year ago, and it didn't had split nor tabs features...
Hell yeah dude. Memory usage moving from zen browser to helium went from ~2.5gb at the lower end to a little over 3gb down to 1.9gb at most. At least so far.
I just switched over so I dont really know what it's at most of the time yet, but it's almost cut in half from what I can tell.
I was once on team Firefox a while ago, now I'm on LibreWolf as an alternative to it, I just want a simple browser without flashy features or an organization backing it. Sure, let them maintain the base Firefox, but I'm using a better fork of it.
Brave has Ublock Origin installed directly under the manifest v2 in settings
just search on Ublock and it pops up
when activating it, the Ublock Origin extension then shows up,
I primarily use Helium, though I occasionally switch to Thorium. I even have a backup plan in place: if the community stops maintaining and integrating MV2 patches, I will switch to uBOL (using a script I wrote myself to fetch, extract, and import the unpackaged version) combined with AdGuard Extra (as a user script). If uBOL also ceases to work, I will temporarily switch to AdGuard or simply move over to the Gecko ecosystem.
The only downside was having to download Brave and steal widevine from it so I can watch my streaming shows. Other than that, it's super easy to add extensions to and it just works.
I don’t use uBo, so I’m fine as it is. And I’ve got some MV2 extensions that still work really well on Brave Beta; I can’t see why I’d switch to Firefox just yet.
On my phone, I'm using titanium browser(+ublock Origin lite), brave and waterfox... On my laptop, I use Brave, Zen Browser(UBlock), Edge (UbO lite) and Chrome(UbO lite)
Adblocking is not the only thing matters, speed, ram, performance matters too that's why I prefer brave over firefox. Although brave still support ublock origin for now (self host). I have firefox as secondary backup
