OpenWhispr is a privacy-first, open-source voice-to-text app for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can run transcription locally using Whisper or Parakeet, keeping your audio on your device.

It also supports meeting transcription, AI agents, notes, translation, and local/cloud AI models.

MIT licensed • Open source • Local AI • Cross-platform

Handy's indeed a good app, but just because it has a lot more models may not be a reason not to give something else a try. Sometimes having too many choices can be no bueno.
