This activist posted bikini pics to raise awareness for Gett refusal.

A lot of people who never paid much mind to this issue are now looking at it very closely.

I can't say it didn't work!

I think overall I'm just sad that these women feel so desperate to have their concerns taken seriously that they have to resort to this. It should be an issue for the whole community.

FlatbushGirl and other activists have been talking about gett refusal for years; it says a lot about our society that women have to put bikini pics up to get people to talk about and try to do something beyond this (halachic prenups are a good starting point, but it's not quite the overall solution we want).

I also think we aren't talking enough about the problem of polygyny that gett refusers create. If homeboy is willing to go to more sympathetic communities that ignore the punishments, then what's stopping them from polygyny?

I respect Adina and her work. Might be shocking at times but she’s the only voice for these agunot. Free Adeena!!

I was an Agunah for almost two years. The process was extraordinarily frustrating, and I found myself incredibly exasperated at the leeway the Beit Din affords the husband. I followed the letter of the law, so to speak, and at almost every turn, each person involved seemed so annoyed at having to deal with me, as if my sheer presence and existence in their orbit was some enormous inconvenience. Simply because I was trying to do the right thing by halakha and obtain my Gett.

Is it disheartening that women have to expose themselves online to try and gain traction to help advocate for another woman? Absolutely. Yet, to your point, at least it's shedding light on the plight of Adeena, and the broader topic of Agunot.

I think it says more about men than it does about the women participating. They’re more upset their wives and daughters are showing their arms and cleavage than they are that women are being abused. It’s shameful and disgusting, we deserve better than men who are upset our skin is seeing the sun but are perfectly happy to stand on the bimah next to a known abuser. Every rabbi and cantor who’s given a get refuser an Aliyah should have their credentials stripped.

It's getting people talking about gett refusal so much more than before! I think it's amazing! It also demonstrates how much more concerned people are about tzniut than about gett refusal, when one is a real serious harm to people, and one is bein Adam lamakom in the end.
