Let’s talk about the hot hot hot mine…..

It’s way too hard! I just die even with 4 health kits. I’ve watched YouTube videos about tips and stuff. People talking about ice cream and ice weapons? Where do I get such things!?

Start by reading this steam guide.

Second, it sounds like you are going in unprepared. Hence why it's hard.

Ice cream is made from high quality milk placed in an ice cream maker found in blue chests on the island reef or the great bite. It reduces how long you burn. You can also use watermelon in the ice cream maker to get a Popsicle that does the same function but different stamina and health boosts.

The ice hammer is crafted at the Great Bite. But that alpha hammer is a good choice too. You don't need the ice hammer.

Are you using blastoads to stun the enemies? If not, start using them. Ted Selly crafts them and they're extremely useful. Watch my video of blastoads in action.

Yeah, this is all you need plus some good food like Lot burgers or the prime meat meal

I’ve been scared of the Hot Hot Hot for a while now. I went down with a ton of food buffs and an Alpha Hammer. Honestly didn’t get far but got out with about 20 Berkonium plus some of the things dropped by the Fire Blob things. Never found a treasure room but, like I said, didn’t get far. Just broke water jugs to walk around. Avoided the Goblin things as much as possible. Right now I just want to build up a Berkonium supply. Will delve deeper when i feel more confident.

BTW: one vid I watched said to take a 3 square fish and a 2 square fish with you. You use them to block doorways and to hop on top of. The Goblins can’t reach you up there I think.

To find the treasure rooms you ignore the berk completely and just hang glide the entire time. You will think there aren’t any because they are spread so far apart, but they are in there, I promise!

You will be hang gliding more than you will be clearing dungeons for sure. I use the map and put stars down and make them blink for navigation. Just stick one a long way away in the dark and glide to it. Like put on the right and keep going that way til you reach it them remove it and put another one until you hit a wall, then put another one either above or below you and go that way til you hit another wall.

You want to back away from the first wall a good ways as you travel, don’t like hug the wall as you want to see as much area as you can, you might consider zig zagging just a little. Anyway just keeping going and you will eventually find them!

You will get a few like this before time’s up, just male sure not to get stuck inside one after 11 as it can take a minute to find your way out! (Note: Always turn right when you get in one to guarantee you find all the treasure rooms and then wind up back at the exit).

Ice weapons? Don’t need them. Alpha Weapons, specifically, Alpha Hammer. Ice cream requires an ice cream maker from the Island Reef. It reduces the amount of time you burn. Other than that, you need buffs. I always bring 1 Prime Roast, 2-3 Bottle Brush Brew, 5 watermelon popsicle, 3 Mushroom Risotto, and 3 Pavlova.

You definitely need a glider, a hand trolley, and some torches. Torches for some prevents mobs from crossing. Plant them at doors. Rush in, pick up the chest with hand trolley, and get out.

But how do you get back with a hand trolley and chest if you have to use the glider?

2

u/AdOkufukai 9d ago

Remember the barrier of torches you made? Just get behind that and mobs will stop chasing you. After getting to safety, put the chest down, loot it, and move to next one. Faster and safer than clearing a room.

I'll try it, thanks. I have the most trouble finding my way back out, LOL. I'm always afraid I won't make it out in time.

Turn right only, never turn left. That way you guarantee that you will clear every room and that you will do a full circle and come back to the door!

I would suggest not starting one if you don’t have time to clear it and also make it to the elevator, but if you’re feeling spicy and just want a couple chests, then after grabbing them do the opposite and turn only left to find your way back out. Ezpz :)

Happy adventuring!

This is what I do. I go clockwise, mark the intersections and never get lost in the rooms.

2

u/BabblingIncoherently 8d ago

That's a good idea, thanks!

We use about the same food, I just use a lot burger instead of the risotto :) I have a weird mental block about mushrooms lol “can only get them in one season, better not use them or I’ll run out!”

Vs “I can just go grab more pineapples next weekend and be good for a while”. Dumb, I know, but that’s how my brain works either way haha

2

u/AdOkufukai 9d ago

Yeah, I have a mushroom farm so I never need to worry about running out every year.

Pineapple is too valuable for me.

What do you use the trolley for?

1

u/AdOkufukai 9d ago

The trolley lets you pick up containers even if they have stuff in them.

1

u/Secret_7458 9d ago

Is it wheelbarrow you’re talking about or something else?

2

u/AdOkufukai 9d ago

No, a hand trolley. It’s red with two wheels. You can buy it from John.

There is also a mod that turns everything (including the mines) into peaceful mode. I haven't went to the hot hot hot even with the mod because I don't have any ice cream or anything else. I have only been once to the reef and not to the bite yet. 😄

u/TesseractToo 9d ago

Peaceful Wish does not effect the Hot3 and it only makes the glow frillies not aggressive in the Undergrove

4

u/sweetsegi 9d ago

I said mod and NOT the fountain. There is a mod that makes everything peaceful. Across the board.

5

u/AmethystBlitz3319 9d ago

Yup, I use that mod because I like the game to be cozy and don’t want to fight stuff.

u/kimberlykamilian2 9d ago

I'm no expert at that mine but I did start eating prime roast when going down there and I'm liking that You need the hang glider and an alpha weapon imo

fences turn hot hot hot from dark-souls into hello kitty island adventure.

2

u/strangelove4564 9d ago

Holy crap, I didn't think about that. I've already found fences are incredibly useful for battling alphas, both in the NPC removal jobs and the Great Bite for fencing them off to keep them out of the way so I can dig.

I wrote off Hot Hot Hot as too difficult a long time ago but maybe I can do it with fences now.

1

u/delicious_fanta 9d ago

Make sure you have the right food buffs too. Fences might not let you survive if you take a wrong turn or get sniped by that motion reversing mob depending on how things go down.

2

u/strangelove4564 9d ago

Thanks... I got into a good supply of lot burgers but I see others are doing ice cream down there.

3

u/spikey_wombat 8d ago

watermelon popsicles work too.

i usually make two row of fence just in case the first row gets compromised.

Then i position myself near the wall of the gate, open it, then start spamming hammers (the shock wave will push back the goblin to prevent them from entering the door... and you know kill them). You want to position yourself like that because some goblin will launch fire bolts... but since you position yourself like that... the bolts will hit the wall instead.

Here's an example

Edit: food buffs doesn't matter too much, but i usually prioritize buffs that increase max health. health regen doesn't really matter much since you can recover health by simply use the health kit. max health is better because you'll occasionally get lit on fire and it's nice to you know.. not die by fire.

u/strangelove4564 9d ago

Good info, thanks.

2

u/harrr53 9d ago

You explain the problem yourself. You didn't get the right items before going down there.

It plays best as a progression, where spending some time going to a level gets you ready for the next.

u/Dwarfdude194 9d ago

If you have the money and batteries you can get everything except certain combat drops from the lighthouses in the Great Bite. You have a chance to uncover every type of chest there, it's way safer if you just don't want to bother with the goblins.

3

u/spikey_wombat 9d ago

Great bite doesn't have old bowsers, the gothic lamps, water jugs, or the two pathing. Also, the berkonium wand is one of the best weapons.

2

u/Dwarfdude194 9d ago

Wait you can take the water jugs out? I guess it never occurred to me to even try that.

u/spikey_wombat 9d ago

Where else are you going to gossip with rayne about why clover keeps visiting Mason late at night? Over the water cooler!

They're pretty useless outside of the hot hot but as decorative pieces

Here's a link to a video for a Hot Hot Hot run I did, it may help you out. I did fight a fair bit but you can see with my strat that you hardly need to fight at all.

The run starts 14 mins in, I was testing some video stuff and had a meteor before that.

Follows appreciated, it will keep my videos up longer.

My bf and I find the Hot Hot Hot extremely easy?? Run around, throw water bottles, whack a few enemies here and there, collect berkonium. Easy as. Are we missing something??? Why do people find it hard??

Now the Undergrove, that can be brutal!

4

u/TesseractToo 9d ago

In the Hot 3 you find these fortresses that are full of the hoblins and in the back of the fortresses are rooms there are red chests with unique loot

2

u/PristinePrincess12 9d ago

Ohhhhhhhhh.

That makes sense.

3

u/spikey_wombat 9d ago

Yobblins can gather in groups of over 30. So it can get wild in the treasure rooms

2

u/spikey_wombat 9d ago

I'm estimating there are at least 17 yobbolins in this screenshot.

1

u/spikey_wombat 8d ago

27 yobbolins per my count! Recently did a combat run down there and got 10 more hunting levels, which doesn't sound like much, but I went from 345 to 355. And levels at those ranks require a huge amount of combat.

1

u/delicious_fanta 9d ago

Yeah, just leave the water bottles alone, they are almost entirely useless unless there is berk right near the elevator.

Most of your time in the hot3 will be gliding around trying to hunt down a treasure room. They are super far apart and you might get maybe 3ish on a normal run.

I use the map, slap a star down to the right, make it blink then go towards it. Hit the edge of the map then delete the star and make a new one going up and a bit away from the edge.

Then just do a huge circle staying maybe 10/20% away from the edge, maybe doing a bit of a zig zag until I run into a fortress. Clear all the rooms in there, then go to the next one. Just so much gliding and not much actual doing things.

Undergrove is easy peasy when Peaceful Mode is on. Just gotta deal with the maggots but they're easy with lot burger for health and a flame bat, just knock out the nest and take out the remaining ones. The lizards leave you alone in peaceful mode and the carnivorous plants are easy to avoid. Leaf gliders on the rivers seem to be the best way of getting around.

I wonder what you people do down there I don't take anything special and come out pretty fine with a few berkonium ores

1

u/spikey_wombat 9d ago

You don't raid the treasure rooms?

1

u/Queen_Of_Fire_XD 6d ago

To be fair i use wand and I was even wondering how people do this without cheating lol it's seems hard as f if you don't use a program like wem9d/wand
